Did Chandler get WORSE?

He always seems to get worse. "See you at the bottom" - Michael Chandler, probably
 
He's as good as the guy who kept a competitive fight with Olivera last fight. Paddy is younger and better than people want to admit. People on here do this weird thing when guys they hate end up winning where they start framing the narrative that their opponent was bad, instead of them being wrong about Paddy.
 
He lost because he was thinking about Conor the entire time they were fighting.

He got knocked out cold by Olivera then got thoroughly beat up and outclassed in their rematch. He had like 40 seconds of success in that fight all due to cage grabs and punches to the back of the head which he got away with before being taken down and dominated on the mat again.


I think youre relentlessly glazing Chandlers subpar record in the UFC. He’s been a punching bag and accumulated far too much damage by the elite fighters which is why they fed him to their industry plant Paddy at this stage of his career.

That's a fair assessment. So you don't think he deserved to be in the top 5 LW in the UFC ever?

Honestly I think Chandler his prime had elite physical gifts and a solid skillset.

That being said, his skillset relied heavily on those physical gifts. His ability to close distance, takedown explosion, and overall delivery required high exertion of speed/power. Chandler reminds me of a bigger Mendes, twitchy gifted athlete with big power who just didn’t have the fight IQ.

It’s typical at this point, that’s why according to some there isn’t any great fighters. It’s self inflicted wound way of thinking, people complain about there isnt any great fighters or anyone good coming up, well of course there isn’t, they never get their dues because of the amount of excuses that are thrown for them winning. The past few years has shown me that us MMA fans are the worst fans of any sport.

I think Pimblett showed up in better shape this time, better weight cut as i believe he looked a bit slimmer in the Green fight too.
 
His BJJ was miles behind paddy ..

Chandlers wrestling is great.

Paddy can also wrestle ..

He got outstruck by a grappler in Paddy frking Pimblett, hell even the dead corpse of Tony Ferguson outclassed him on the feet. He just ducks and throws a hailmaker praying it will land lol.
Charles took him down at will, Pimblett radgdolled him like a little girl. He also looks like a fish out of water on the ground, has no clue what he is doing.

He’s atrocious in every single aspect of mma…
 
You combine a BJJ black belt with a college or state champion level wrestling it's good night paddy is gonna be a problem.

Exactly, it's pretty annoying to talk on a MMA fan forum and everyone is a hater. Opponents are never good when guys people hate beat them and no one is ever good if their last fight is a loss.
 
He came into the UFC at 34 already past his prime. Age matters a lot at the lower weight classes.

He had good moments against Olivera, Gaethje and Poirier when he still had a bit left in the tank - he rocked all of them.

At this point he's not just past his prime, he's completely done, which to be fair you should be when you're a week away from turning 39.
 
I think he’s definitely declined a bit but he’s been pretty overrated his entire UFC run. At one point people here were saying he could be champ but prefers to fight reckless and get knocked out. That theory just never made any sense.
 
chandler has pretty much always been a coin flip against good comp. His reckless aggresiveness and physical gifts make him a danger to any opponent in the division for a period of time But his physical gifts are leaving him due to the obvious issue of aging. Without those overwhelming physical gifts he's a 5'6" light weight with poor iq and game planning.
 
No he was out matched and faced the same problems most short fighters do.
