It is kinda fitting timing too because you can see how Cuomo has been using the 9-11 milking strategy in his hopes of defeating Mamdani. Seems like his whole strategy at this point has dwindled down to dogwhistling (to be generous) bizarre tropes.

The math is not in your favor. In 2004, 7/10 righties still supported the war vs 3/10 lefties. I don’t get how you can say everyone was in it together.

Maybe the term “beloved” is hyperbolic. I will concede to that. But the right definitely didn’t have an issue with Cheney until he didn’t endorse Trump in 2020.

I repeat, his administration left with an approval rating in the 20's. Your 2004 poll does not speak to how he was viewed in 2024, and it wasn't the Republicans parading his endorsement around either. It's more accurate to say that the Dems had an issue with him, until he endorsed Harris, rather than claim that Republicans felt betrayed over him not endorsing Trump. Republicans were laughing at Democrats for embracing his endorsement. They didn't give a fuck for his endorsement. Democrats on the other hand...

The more we talk the more out of sorts you come across. First you say that righties and lefties were equally pro war. The polling statistics say it’s wrong. Now you say Dems were celebrating Cheney’s endorsement of Harris. Dems were not seeking his endorsement and certainly didn’t care for it. It made the news because he’s a former Republican VP. But other than that, it was a net neutral.

You’re trying to create some false narrative for the sake of arguing at this point. FFS, Liz Cheney was elected in 2016 in large part due to being his daughter and having his support. He was her main campaign surrogate in Wyoming. So this whole notion that republicans were done with Cheney at the end of the Bush admin is utter BS. They were done with him when he opposed Trump, just like they were done McCain, Romney and many others.
