I wrestled for years as well, and I coach now. My wrestlers don't run a single step to make weight. Just eat a lot of roughage 30 or so hours out, cut the water intake, and take hot baths as necessary (10-15 minutes in a hot tub with bath salts will give you .5 lb every single time, as many time as you do it... so long as you let your core cool down for 15 minutes or so between baths... so we're talking 1-2 lbs an hour, every hour, until you're a dried prune).

Still too many wrestlers/fighters who are cutting weight all wrong. But, yeah, gimme an hour and I can get another pound off of anyone, no matter how dehydrated he already is, with simple hot water immersion. Now, that's not to say he won't die in the process if I keep pushing and cutting weight once he gets weak and collapses and becomes delusional... but if he's still walking around and clear headed with less than a pound to lose, he's not in danger of that, and taking that pound off is, just as I've already said, as simple as a couple of very hot baths.

Did anyone besides the TS honestly believe he wouldn't make weight?

He was a pound over for Cerrone and we see how badly that affected his performance the next day.

And you always had Benson 50-45 over Diaz. Don't act like this suddenly pushed you over to that opinion.

I wrestled in highschool, i know about cutting weight. What I meant is were talking about Diaz they are known for being on weight and in shape, its not like were dealing with Thiago Alves or Rumble johnson here

There is no one pound grace in title fights. It's understandable you didn't know this because you're not a professional fighter about to fight for the title of the largest MMA organisation in the world, but I can't figure out why Diaz and his team weren't professional enough to make sure he made weight. Keep'n it real I guess.

What in hell are you people on about? Excuses for what? He MADE WEIGHT! The time allowance wasn't invented tonight for Nate Diaz. It's part of the process. I repeat my earlier assessment: Sherdog is home to too many idiots.
