Diaz beat Conor easier than Khabib did, but Diaz...

Yeah you do.

I know you get hard over the Diaz fights, so did Conor get choked out in the 2nd fight? Or no?

Just a simple question. A decision is a very very very different outcome than a submission. Kind of crazy right?

Aww, mad little guy? I know it sucks your favorite fighter is a legend of panic-athletics.

Keep crying for a rematch.

I figured you'd reply with something like this LOL

Well you shouldn't have expected anything other than accuracy and you got it.

Now you can finally move on from McRunner and begging Khabib for rematches. You're welcome.

{<redford}

This one time at band camp....

Your anti Khabib post's are tiresome, you and D1 ought to go create a facebook group exposing just how week Khabib is/was and how his run to the title was a big hoax.

Do you have screwed up Conor posters in your garage that have been paid "tribute" to? I imagine so.

You're right. You caught me

Lol no he didn't. Khabib dominated the Conor fight, not one second did it look like he was going to lose and even knocked him down and got a 10-8 round. McGregor looked like the clearly superior fighter to Diaz before he gassed.

The only offense that McGregor had against Khabib that bothered him were his 20 fouls.

Good points

Except "clearly superior fighters" don't gas.

Let's forget about the "drunk Conor" narrative for a moment. Let's forget about his "f0Ot wA$ a b@LLo0N" soundbite. These are unsubstantiated, hypothetical details.

Conor, at the UFC 229 press conference, swore that his camp was a war zone, complete with broken orbital bones, broken zygomatic arches, and swallowed teeth. He convinced the world he was ready for "every and all outcomes". Keeping that in mind, what occurred during the actual fight that would lead you to believe he deserves a rematch?

Khabib was finishing the fight in Round 2 as well, and Conor had to cheat with an illegal knee to escape the tight kimura. Conor didn't cheat in his fight with Nate, and dominated the 1st round then (while losing the first round against Khabib).

This thread is dumb.

To the people saying Conor is a superior fighter until he gassed against Nate:

Stamina and endurance is a part of fighting.

Same people who say Khabib shouldnt have rematched Conor were saying he gets submitted by Diaz again. Or better yet some of them have been saying he gets destroyed ever since first Poirier fight.
These same experts also critized his lifestyle and drug use after Mayweather fight saying he could never fight again but suddenly they act like that was the best version ever against Khabib.
Then they said how Cowboy was gonna destroy him because Khabib ended his career and so on yet he put on arguably the best performance we have ever seen in the octagon.

The difference was that McGregor looked great against Diaz until he gassed. Same in the rematch, he looked great, gassed, but survived and won the fight. It’s pretty logical to rematch if the fight was competitive AND made a lot of money. In the Khabib fight, McGregor didn’t look good and there was no point in an instant rematch as McGregor would have lost again and his stock would go down even further.

Conor was drinking heavily leading up to Khabib fight.

Khabib walks 20+ pounds heavier than Conor, so that's a huge advantage.

However, hungry and sober Conor may have a chance to overcome fighting a much heavier man as he did with Diaz in the second fight.

Nah conor was at 100%. Khabib was at 20%. And still win decisively.

Khabib bless

Rematched him and lost.

Why is it so crazy to suggest a rematch should've been immediate? Or at least by now?

Conor proved after Diaz beating him, he could bounce back and redeem himself.

It's illogical to immediately dismiss that a rematch should've happened after Diaz handled Conor quicker than Khabib did.

It's possible Conor could beat Khabib.

Diaz is a bum, almost everyone gave him a beating, he got his red panty night and that is his career highlight

Not really the same

Conor went into the Diaz fight overconfident. He was certain that he would get the knockout. Underestimating Nate's chin, ability to eat those shots while continually moving forward, will to survive and warrior spirit.

Essentially he doubled down on this belief and ate even more within a short period of time to gain weight for 170. He blew all his energy attempting to finish Nate and failed. Ultimately a misuse of energy and an underestimation of his opponent was a huge factor in his loss.

For the second fight, he corrected those things and acknowledged that he would likely need to win it in a five round fight. It was the first time we was humbled and taught how he needs to manage energy as a championship level fighter.

Conor came prepared condition wise against Khabib, more so than all of his other fights. Khabib beat him because he was the better fighter that night. He certainly did not underestimate Khabib.

That said there are a few caveats, it had been 2 years since his last MMA fight and this certainly wasn't the type of 2 years off where he was in the gym every day. He was coked up, partying around ireland.

Considering he did have some success, stuffing 4 TD's in the 3rd, handling himself reasonably on the ground and showing improved conditioning, if he's able to build upon that and come on his A game, there are certainly grounds for a rematch.

It's not at all the same as Nate 1-2. But I also think there's a reason why both Javier and Khabib said they think Conor is his toughest fight.

No he definitely wasn't. Conor isn't stupid and would never underestimate Khabib. Having a few shots of his liquor to promote it means nothing.

Khabib also isn't bigger than Conor. They're the same size. Walk around weight means nothing, it's just how much fat he gains in his off season.

Khabib was 163 the week of the fight against Conor. Both of them go in the cage anywhere from 170-175. It's negligible

Nate is someone who has the frame of a true 170, like his brother, if he decides to put on the weight. So, Nate was definitely the bigger man.

But not Khabib.
