Television DEXTER: NEW BLOOD (Premieres Nov. 7, 2021) (SPOILERS)

I really didn't like how Angela/Harrison parted.

It made no sense, character wise. Angela was already an established "child rescuer" (her own daughter wasn't hers), she should have taken Harrison in. The "cover-up" seemed pointless, Dexter was a serial killer, wouldn't be hard to convince people it was self defense.

why couldn't harrison have stayed and angela could still take responsibility for killing dexter anyway? come to think of it there is no reason why harrison needed to leave at all.

I guess the implication was that Angela, although she cut his some slack, was still digusted by what he did, didn't want to keep a murderer around.

This season had some flaws, but overall it might be my second or third favorite Dexter seasons (yes I know it's technically a different series).

Thought it was a decent ending, I mean which other way could they have gone really...?

This is speculation on my part, but I believe it may be to setup a spinoff with Harrison as the lead. If you look at how they produced the show, the outside scenes were filmed in Shelburne Falls, MA as a stand-in for a fictional small town in Upstate New York. They were careful to only film scenes in the coldest winter months when there was snow on the ground because that's the aesthetic they wanted for the time and place, the exact opposite of the original series set in tropical Miami.

If/when the spinoff happens, it'll likely take place somewhere completely different from Iron Lake, perhaps L.A. as they alluded to already. L.A. was also the primary filming location for the original series despite it being set in Miami. It'd be funny and ironic if they ended up filming it in Miami even though it's set in L.A. because Florida now has tax breaks for film/television productions that weren't available at the time Dexter started, and a lot of filmmakers have used South Florida as a stand-in for Southern California in recent years.

Not sure where I'd rank it exactly, but I'd say it's superior to ALL of the post-season 4 seasons. I recently re-watched the entire series and perhaps the episodes and seasons sort of blurred together a bit, so not sure if it was better than any of the pre-season 5 seasons. Perhaps it was better than season 3. That seems to be the weakest season before season 5 to me. Season 4 is the best. I'd say season 1 after that and then season 2.

Didn't want him banging her daughter anymore either. She literally caught them in bed together. And while she hasn't seen everything, she has caught a glimpse of his dark side. EVERYBODY saw him break that kid's arm at the wrestling match. It wasn't that hard for her to figure out that he was bad news, even if she gave him a break.

Yup. It's 4, 1, 2, New Blood in that order for me.

They both got something in common, they are hated by the fans except AJ got at least likeable characteristics.

the best ending would have been Dexter getting caught. Could have done a scene with him either getting the death penatly in court or being put to death.

This ending was stupid, like most of the season.

Angela was good, so to was the old man serial killer.

It always amazes me with so much good tv, how they can fuck up a show like this.

Havent posted in this thread yet but I decided to give this show a chance and absolutely loved it. Hated the later seasons of Dexter but absolutely love New Blood.

Dexter is such a pos. He tells Harrison that he will tell him everything then lies again. Liar, deadbeat dad, psychopath..

In Season 1,2 I really liked the character and could empathise but it went downhill after that imo.

Matt didn't really deserved to be killed at that point. Dexter should have investigated more and verified, not just taken the word of someone doing coke and being pissed that Matt was fucking the girl he wanted. That's just the psychopath in Dexter wanting to let loose and kill someone again.

Blame it on Deb for giving him shit advice.

Guy spends years going undetected then he starts letting a camera follow his around. He got to cocky if you ask me

The wife and I enjoyed this final season. But man, it kind of sucked to be drawn back in to Dexter's world, only for it to be the end. I was hoping for an after credits scene, where he actually has a bullet proof vest on, knocks out Angela and then bounces off to LA. There are still quite of bunch of folks like me that would stick with it no matter how predictable and goofy it got!

Any of you read that article about how Michael C. Hall uses Chip Gaines as a personality model for Dexter? When he's acting like a normal person around others, I could totally see what he was talking about. lol
