anyone else has a deviated septum that makes it hard to breath from the nose?

I'm wondering if getting it fixed is worth it. If anyone has how much was it and what was it like?

See the change in Wanderlei's cardio after he had his nose fixed. It can make a big difference.

Worked wonders for me. I can sleep much better now. Previously I'd keep on getting up in the middle of the night due to blocked breathing. I, however, thought I'd be able to breathe through both nostrils at the same time, all the time but it is not the case. One of your nostrils would still be partially blocked most of the time. You would however feel a lot more intake of oxygen through both nostrils, just not at the same time. Getting a better sleep also helped me being more active in the morning and that feeling of tiredness during the day is gone.

Costs depend upon your location, I am sure it's different everywhere so you need to check with a hospital. As for how painful the surgery is, it isn't that painful at all, just very uncomfortable for a few days and it gets better with time. You'd be perfectly fine within 2 weeks, though the full recovery I'd say takes a month or more. Also, do remember there is a very little risk of losing your sense of taste and smell forever. It is I believe extremely rare but it happened with one of the sherdoggers, there is a thread, you'd have to search for it. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth it and my quality of life has improved tremendously after the surgery.

It was super painful for me. I don't know the exact procedure others have had. In mine they basically peeled the skin off my septum, then cut my septum off, and reattached it. I have been impaled. The septorhinoplasty was close to that pain wise. At least the recovery phase. I do sleep better, and can hold my head upside down and still breath. It didn't fix everything. My nose is uglier now though.

What do you mean by septorhinoplasty being close to that? Septoplasty is what I had to fix my deviated septum, I thought that was it. Did you have a seperate procedure to get your deviated septum fixed? Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure to improve the aesthetics of the nose, did you get that as well and still your nose looks uglier? Maybe you got them done together but is there any other procedure that you had?

It was several years ago. They peeled the skin off my septum i.e. my nose, then they took some hammer and chisel and bored a bigger hole in my skull, then cut off the septum from my face, and reattached it. My nose looked better before, but I can breathe better now. That shit HURT. As in if I didn't take the OXY's every 2 hours I was in hell. I looked way worse than Rogan. 2 black eyes, and the huge swollen bleeding nose.

Okay you got something completely different done. What was the name of the procedure? Usually Septoplasty is the procedure to fix the deviated septum where they may break the septum (cartilage) and remove some of it. I was under anesthesia so I don't know what exactly they did, I think they also trimmed my turbinates. What you are describing sounds like something different though with some aspects of septoplasty. did you also have a septoplastyrhinoplasty?
