Detainees Given Hysterectomies During "Routine" Gynecological Exams

Nah, I'm satisfied with the header. No lies detected. He did indeed perform hysterectomies.
U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood ruled in June that "the undisputed evidence establishes that multiple NBC statements are false."

Living in fantasy land is why you lost.

This is the doctor:

"NBC Universal has agreed to settle a federal defamation lawsuit filed by a Georgia gynecologist over coverage of allegations that he performed mass hysterectomies on female detainees at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. The stories aired in September 2020 on MSNBC shows hosted by stars Nicolle Wallace, Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow.

U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood ruled in June that "the undisputed evidence establishes that multiple NBC statements are false."

They concluded that the doctor's use of certain surgical procedures was too aggressive, inappropriate and without the detainees' informed consent.

In other words, he wasn't performing mass hysterectomies,
What? Aggressive, inappropriate hysterectomies without detainees consent sounds exactly like mass hysterectomies. This report seems to confirm that was what he was doing.

This update confuses me.

it's a weird way of writing a sentence that indicates that the evidence towards NBCs multiple statements being flase is undisputed.

they could have worded it like 'The multiple statements by NBC is indisputably false.'

that's how I read it

Hahahaha... you do you

"
U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood ruled in June that "the undisputed evidence establishes that multiple NBC statements are false."

She found "there were no mass hysterectomies or high numbers of hysterectomies at the facility," contrary to the allegations from a whistleblower; that Dr. Mahendra Amin, the plaintiff in the case, had performed only two hysterectomies on female detainees; and that he was not a "uterus collector," in the whistleblower's memorable phrase."

Two...

Routine gynecological exams don’t include a major surgery performed under general anesthesia in a sterile operating room.

Based on the title alone before even reading the thread, I knew it was bullshit.

You're misreading. He was performing several different types of unnecessary surgeries, but those surgeries were not hysterectomies. For example he'd open up the detainees to remove benign cysts that didn't need removing and to scrape out tissue from the uterus ("D&C"), indiscriminately injected them with Depo-Provera if there was abnormal bleeding but didn't allow the drug time to work and immediately jumped to surgery. That sort of thing.

I'm guessing that because of the language barrier + his patients not knowing what had been done to them since he didn't bother informing them, the detainees incorrectly believed their surgical scars were from hysterectomies.

I appreciate the clarification there. And giving your guess for where the reporting mistake came from. That makes sense. Still an evil doctor.

Not evil. For fuck sake read the actual story. He’s an out of date dr who is performing appropriate care, if this were many years ago. He’s just the kind of dr you’d see at a prison or the Va, hence the video I posted from scrubs which is pretty close to what happened here

They falsely made up this story and slandered this doctor.

"NBC Universal has agreed to settle a federal defamation lawsuit filed by a Georgia gynecologist over coverage of allegations that he performed mass hysterectomies on female detainees at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. It certainly sounds really bad if true. But this is anecdotal and third party information. We have zero info on the alleged patients and their medical historechtomy I mean history

Yes it was them completely slandering a doctor and by default anyone who works for him pretty malicious stuff.
Yea but never fear, the bias mod won't fix his mistake.

"It's still real to me damn it !"
