Law DeSantis promises to control Disney

I'm pretty sure I remember Holmes from the Elon/Twitter threads, talking about how he's strongly against censorship. Interesting that this alleged concern of his turns to accusations of pearl clutching when it's pointed out what DeSantis' goals are.
Understand these people don't have any true beliefs only grievance and an unshakeable belief they are the worlds biggest victims.

Can’t wait for Trump and this guy to beat the hell out of each other and see the conservatards declare how the loser was “never our friend.”
Just a few more months until things heat up.

I'm seeing a future where Trump gets the Republican nomination, and chuds start screaming that we're not allowed to talk about him on here as their defense.

Don't like this at all. Disagree with Disney's politics all you want but at the point where the government starts taking action because a private company is weighing in on cultural issues, you're crossing into very dangerous territory. You do not want this to become the norm and, even if you agree with the politics behind the move, this should be bloody worrisome to you.

If you don't like Disney's politics, don't buy their product. Don't get the state to punish them for it. Cheering on moves like this might be something you regret one day.

Yep.

DeSantis is a Republican with presidential ambitions of course he’s going to lean hard into culture warring. That’s only way to connect with the base. He has to make it clear that he’ll inflict harm on all the people they hate. It’s not like the idiot rubes are gonna get all hot and bothered about tax cuts for rich people or cutting Medicare. They want blood.

This coming from a guy who constantly goes to bat for the side that calls the opposition a basket of deplorables, bitter clingers, and that the other side wants to put ya'll back in chains, is pretty damned rich. Or, at the very least, showing a remarkable lack of self reflection. Not entirely inaccurate, but it's the guy who loves the pot accusing the kettle of being too black.

Well done. I applaud you, sir. A display of integrity in the War Room. Not something you see everyday.

100% The cruelty is the main point of the chud movement. They're a bunch of ghouls that operate almost entirely on spite, who use "fuck your feelings" as a rallying cry. Which makes it extra comical when they complain other people act demeaning towards them.

One of the most revealing quotes from a Trump supporter during his presidency was when they criticized Trump by saying, “I thought he was going to do good things. He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.”

What is wokeness in Disney? It's cartoons for children.

Isn't DeSantis a grown man?

Why is the governor worrying about children's cartoons? I'm sure he can find something else to watch.
I believe Disney made a public statement stating they would no longer donate to his campaign, due to receiving negative feedback from enough of their customers, over his "don't say gay" bill.

Here's what Hillary actually said:

You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks – they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America.

But the "other" basket – the other basket – and I know because I look at this crowd I see friends from all over America here: I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas and – as well as, you know, New York and California – but that "other" basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but – he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.

The only thing wrong with this moderate criticism is that she was far too conservative with her 50% figure.

If he's appointing the whole board then that's a different beast. I thought he only appointed a portion of the board. And this is far more intrusive government than anything we've seen from left or right recently. Although in the long run, I expect Disney to slowly buy off the board and continue business as usual.

Should clarify that I mean the business of running of the special district. DeSantis and this board are going to have zero power over the company itself.

What will stop DeSantis and his crew from squeezing Disney enough in the special tax district to force themselves onto the board of Disney so they can prevent it from becoming woke? Do you think that this is the end game for DeSantis? I don’t. I think he sees Disney as a Goliath that he has the ability slay because they are geographically stuck within his grasp.

? How did you come to that conclusion? Do you think Disney is a libtard facility? You ever been to Disney World?

Honestly, Disney could very easily just say.. y'know what... Fuck Florida and move to Louisiana/ Texas/ South Carolina or whatever and Florida's economy would take a massive hit. Keep it up fucko.

A lot of these states offer gigantic incentives for something as simple as an Amazon fulfillment centre, you think it'd be difficult for Disney to find a new home?

DeSantis wants to pretend that it hasn't been a mutually beneficial relationship between the state and the company, and that is, like most things coming from the GOP in the past 5 years, absolute bullshit.

Lmao, right they'll just plop the rides on a flatbed, move them to wherever and plug them into a gas powered generator, a couple of porta-potties and a few food vendors and they're good to go.

Do you have any idea how many hundreds of millions are there, that you'll never see, in underground infrastructure alone? Gas, electrical, water, sewage, control rooms, access tunnels etc? How about the "X" amount of concrete caissons, rebar, layers and layers of concrete and aggregates to stabilize the ground to withstand the weight and vibration? No, they're not going anywhere in a hurry.

I especially like your 'keep it up fucko" threat.

I can't think of many times where the people telling young children "don't tell your parents about our fascination with your genitals" were the good guys.

Conservatives seem to be the only ones obsessed over kids genitals. Its not the left that's proposing penis inspection in schools bucko.

So he’s making a big company pay their fair share of taxes now ?

No, instead of letting Disney manage and pay for the roads and land around their parks, he's going to have taxpayers of Florida do it.

His ultimate goal seems to be to give him self mob like leverage--control the infrastructure and you can force the company to bend to the will of the government.
