I'll always be a Lewis fan, even if he never wins a title. He has very under-rated skills, exciting, fun personality, and he's the all-time GOAT of post fight interviews. Everyone loves him for the "My balls was hot" interview, but I'll never forget when he said "Where's Ronda Rousey's fine ass at?" after he KOed her boyfriend.

That said, I'll be rooting for Lewis against Blaydes, but I don't see how he prevails. The guy's defensive wrestling is just not enough to stop Blaydes. He might be able to win via Hail Mary punch, but that's a long shot.

This is just speculation, but I think people are turned off of him because he seems relatively unskilled when it comes to world class fighters. At times, I've been astonished at what it seems like he can accomplish with only brute strength against supposedly the top elite guys. We all want to believe that our sport has evolved beyond that and the enigma of Derrick Lewis flies in the face of that, and forces us to face hard realities. Honestly, I'm still not sure what to make of it.

Probably the most underrated fighter on Sherdog imo. People say he shows how much HW's have regressed, but I genuinely think if you teleported him somehow to the PRIDE HW division, you'd be shocked at how well he did.

He has great power which he carries through the whole fight, very tough to submit, very good at getting back up, strong as fuck and some of the nastiest ground and pound the history of the sport.

I think he would do a lot better than people think he would against them. I'm not saying he beats them all or anything.

I think style wise he's a very difficult challenge for Nogueira.

He has otherworldly power, but his fights are mostly boring as he has zero cardio and just stands in place ready to punch if someone comes near him. He isn't that different from Woodley at his most dull.

He's basically just a giant Kimbo Slice/Houston Alexander. I love the guy, don't mind watching him, but he's not well rounded and often not exciting either.
