International Denmark to set retirement age to 70

And do what exactly?
not certain. Hopefully i dont sit around and drink myself to death. Get outside, spend time on the beach, write, take up swimming. Pretty sure anything would beat being at work all by myself surfing sherdog on a saturday night.

70 makes sense. If you want to keep your brain healthy, you should be doing something. In the west the life expectancy is much longer now, so this will have to be done or gen x ers will finish all the cash the boomers failed to spend.

Younger people better start saving accordingly. Zero fucking chance id work that long... Let alone to rely on the government. Especially because they have socialized medicine. I want to retire by 60... But the only thing that might hold me back is insurance coverage.

If I lived there? Id be out of the workforce by 60. Fuck telling me I have work my whole life. Nothing is guaranteed, life expectancy be damned.
Dark future a head. This an uncomfortable truth but lets be honest with the Genex and millenials getting older poor the Millenial seniors might be the generation that will have the highest suicide rates.

Yea i think we have passed the golden age in west

Time for cyberpunkish "high tech low life"

With what?
I do a lot of woodworking. I”ve always loved the outdoors so I spend a lot of time fishing, hiking, hunting, riding my ATV, traveling. I also bought a house with acreage big wooded lot so just taking care of that keeps me busy. The thing is that I can be as busy as I like, but I can also take it easy when I feel like it.

Thank god my family has some valuable property and my parents are going to leave me everything instead of my degenerate sibling. Prob go work at a golf course at the age of 55-60.

Not sure why this is controversial. Pretty standard to expect people to work longer as average life span increases. Danes also live to an average of about 83 while Americans are at around 79.

Sounds like you have it figured out. Imagine not being able to find purpose and value in life without employment, couldn't be me!

They also get 5 weeks of paid time off per year. It's almost like you get to enjoy your life while you're young and able to do what you want. Insanity!
Why you are thinking that it is insanity?
Do you know how much % from salary they had earned is going for taxman?
Additionally yes, they does have generously financed education system .... Why? Because they are paying " beautiful " tax for their mortgage properties...." nice " VAT % tax for everything they are purchasing.
...
Yes, they does have good roads and a lot of patrol policemans... good healthcare if accident will happen etc.
From where? " beautiful " yearly tax for fact that you have car.... " nice " insurance payments for car etc.... real beauty and super " friendly " excise duties % for fuel you are purchasing.
Additionally very sharp fines for traffic rules violation.....
btw now in almost all european countries these fines are increased more and more...more $$$ to pay ...

So you are paying a lot...such " communism " yes.

Yes, they too are investing, trading etc, does use also private pension funds etc.

Mando vacation terms are for paid employees.

In general in europe if you are self employed, you might have a lot of clients not just one company etc...and no one will care have you vacation 1 day per year or maybe 6 months per year. Your problem...
Especially if you are working remote.as self employed..... cos this self employed means that you are business not employee.

If lawmakers will think that their neurosuregon might be 70 y.o...
70 y.o firefighter ¿

Politicians? These yup, a lot are 75+ y.o and still are talking about next elections...

I think Denmark is just going to be the first of many countries to do this.
