Dem debate tonight

You seem miserable.

That is not my point. I don't see how one can like Sanders and then also like Ron Paul ideologically they are completely different and Anung has admitted he would vote for a Republican or anyone other than Clinton as a protest vote. Even Bernie wouldn't want his fans voting for Ted Cruz if he losses the nomination.
While not the same, they are close on some social issues, and more importantly, foreign policy. Bernie is much closer to Ron Paul on foreign policy than any oh the other candidates.

Respond to this since you think Sanders is so much different than other 'politicians'.

Bernie Sanders on Israel and the Palestinians
Bernie Sanders has described the entrenched conflict between Israel and the Palestinians as both depressing and difficult, and considers the conflict one of the most important issues in the Middle East. He acknowledges that there is no magic solution to the problem, but Bernie believes in a two-state solution, where “Israel has a right to exist in security, and at the same time the Palestinians have a state of their own.” Finally, Bernie sees many other conflicts in the Middle East as exacerbating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jewish Heritage: Bernie is Jewish, but he does not favor Israel over the Palestinians, nor does he otherwise let his religion influence his positions regarding the conflict.

Two-State Solution: Bernie believes that Israel and the Palestinians can, and should, peacefully co-exist, and that Palestinians should have a country of their own.

On Netanyahu & Iran: Bernie is not a big supporter of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and believes that diplomacy, not military action or economic sanctions, can keep Israel safe from Iran.

his supporters are dumbasses, we aren't talking about them, sanders is calling for FREE healthcare for citizens and illegal aliens, adding one and a half trillion dollars to our debt, this isn't monopoly money, it has to be paid for.

If you added 1.5 Trillion, it would go up. No Sanders supporter is arguing this.

What we are arguing is that over a 10 year period, it would save this country 6-10 Trillion dollars.

Pointing to why we can't keep the system how it is, is not moving the goal posts.

I really enjoyed the way pbs covered the debate. I think it lead to more substantive talk and let the candidates flesh out their talking points.

I would like to see pbs cover a Republican debate. It would probably be hilarious though

You didn't answer it and it still does not justify his vote for "military warfare". And 'oppression' of people.

Personally I think Sanders is too hard on Israel but according to the super far left progressives (the ones holding that sign saying Bernie voted for a war against Palestinians). They have a point no matter what you say he did vote for what it is they claim.

Are you ignorant of Bernies history? Go to wikipedia for starters and start reading. You have to be completely naive or in denial to think his isn't one at his core. Again socialism isn't evil but own up to it. After all he calls himself a democratic socialist.

Despite what some think he favors some degrees of socialism. So did Hitler, so did FDR so did so many others. I mean if we want to be really technical socialistic policies can be seen in many places and often do have a place. My only issue which makes me laugh is people trying to act like he isn't something which he himself identifies as. When he was a Mayor he openly called himself one. And was attracted to socialist parties and ideological thought all through his life and college.

See here is the difference, in your definition of socialism you are using, this country is socialist, as you admit by saying FDR was socialist.

In the definition the media uses, and his critics use, Sanders is a socialist, but this country is not.

See the difference?

OK, Bernie holds a common sense approach to the pali/israeli conflict, which is at odds with the folks holding the sign.

I judge Bernie on his platforms, where even with the Israeli/pali conflict, I agree with him on.

No. I said FDR valued some ideas which can be argued to be socialistic. Huge difference between that and full on socialism or state socialism. My main point however is Sanders routinely identified himself as a Socialist and was affiliated and attracted to International socialist workers parties especially at a time in which this country despite haVing socialistic policies was largely ideological opposed to further efforts of 'socialism'.

But that is what you just said of Sanders, that he values some ideas of socialism, like FDR, and this country..........

LOL, this is fun.

Kissinger is a patriot and one of the great geopolitical minds of the 20th century . I don't see why CT hate on the guy. Sure he had some bad judgments but he won a noble peace prize and always put our nations interest first. He also was and is viciously anti-Communist.

hi SOA,

you really need to learn a bit more about Kissinger.

For his time, FDR was waaaaaay farther left than Sanders. You can't just say he "valued some ideas which can be argued to be socialistic" and expect any person with an inkling of historical knowledge to be rebuffed. He introduced positive socialist variants to American policy in a huge way and did so to some acclaim.
