It would change the game. Grappling is checkers, grappling with the gi is chess.
As for the actual reason, it's simple, grappling heavy fights aren't good for entertainment value.
Why did they though. What was the reason that the UFC Banned them?
Actually the no-gi fighter would have much more grips to control the gi opponent.
Cause that shits gay
We like our fighting men as naked as possible
Hmm. Didn't think about that. More control points but the GI fighter would be able to use his GI to get more chokes too. So it should even out.
Dam. GI guy was getting ragged dolled around the ring.
I second this. Lets allow shoes next
Hockey players would transition over and dominate the sport if that became common enough
I'm wanting them to bring back the "one boxing glove" look.
What is wrong with wrestling/boxing shoes being worn in the cage? They don't stop anything, it's not like people are grabbing toes and they not padded enough to help kicks out. They should allows fighters to wear them
Because we all know in real fights we tape our hands up super tight into maces with pads, put Vaseline all over bodies, get as close to naked as possible and fight in a fenced in area where we spend most of the fight trying to avoid being pushed against it instead of fighting.
Also, apparently if a man puts a knee on the ground you cannot attack him.
This is known.
Watch Kudo instead. It has headbutts too!
The soles of the feet is hard rubber. Makes a difference with kicks. It's padding for the bottom of your feet. Also better grip compared to bare feet.
This. No-gi gets the advantage all other things being equal.
But what would the GI wearing BJJ master do when he fights a BJJ master who isn't wearing a gi?
