Law Dedicated to the poster who denied people were being locked up in UK for social media posts

The people doing cancel culture are not fringe. Deporting people for criticizing Israel was done with the full support of the President and most members of Congress.
Sickening, but that it is still only a “fringe” that supports this… it sucks that this fringe wields power, but Trump and the Israeli stooges do not speak for the majority on this issue.

Per ChatGPT, this has been VERY unpopular with common folk:
  • In a survey by Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) from April 2025, only 26% of Americans said they support or strongly support deporting foreign students on a visa for expressing pro-Palestinian views; 52% opposed or strongly opposed it; 22% neither supported nor opposed.
    • For green-card (lawful permanent resident) holders facing deportation for pro-Palestinian views: 23% supported, 54% opposed, 23% neutral.

  • An article referencing an Associated Press‑NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll (April 2025) noted that about half of U.S. adults opposed revoking foreign students’ visas for participation in pro-Palestinian activism, and about 3 in 10 supported it.

Was the trial ongoing? Were they allowed to film? I'd need to know the details but often these stories are, ahem, "abridged". Not always, but often.

It was on a public street and the person on trial was walking out with a bunch of goons with their typical umbrellas. They kept trying to block the camera guy and the police-rather than tell them not to stick the umbrellas in his face, told the camera guy to stop filming because he was agitating or escalating the situation by filming. I am not going to go look for it atm

I only read the OP and I don't know about the topic otherwise, but this looks like evidence of a conspiracy to commit the crime of property damage, criminal mischief, or similar to a private business Is someone arguing that although you could be prosecuted for these statements verbally, you get to type them on-line, and that's fine?

Free speech includes the right to plan to a crime with your buddies? I don't think so. What am I missing?

If it is AI... cool then I'll apologize.

But if it aint.... then eat a bag of shit.

Edit:

So this bit was cut from the sources I saw:

You took to social media in order to encourage others towards participation in the attacks upon the hotel. In a post on Facebook you wrote, “Every man and their dog should be smashing fuck out Britannia Hotel”. One person had responded online saying. “I’m down if you are my lad”. To that post you responded, “start about 5 bell tonight be my boy but it's all gravy.”

And I did a quick search and there are pages of articles about people being locked up arrested etc

The entire point of free speech, which Britain clearly does not have, is that it protects the speech you may not like, the words that make people uncomfortable.

Thankfully the US has, at least in the constitution, and seemingly still to some functional extent FOR NOW, still got the 1st ammendment protections including freedom of speech.

I am not aware of any constitutional ammendment which guarantees the freedom to not get your feelings hurt. Not yet at least.

Regardless of how you feel about immigrants, racisim, etc...
It sets a horrible present in this world that people are being literally put in jail for criticizing their government actively prioritizing undocumented migrants OVER lifelong hardworking citizens, which is what the man posted on social media. And based on the court video ... HE NEVER ACTUALLY SAID ANYTHING calling for violence ...

but the commie cocksucker courts decided they were able to interpret it that way in their imagination and that was sufficient to lock a man behind bars for 20 months or so.

The thought police are here.

That's not a social media post, that is successfully inciting violence via social media.

If this is the best example you've got surely you can see why many people, myself included, struggle to see this as some material issue.

German woman given harsher sentence than rapist for calling him ‘pig’

She direct messaged him on WhatsApp to say he "couldn’t go anywhere without getting kicked in the face". That falls into harassment and intimidation.
Laws have to applied equally, so whether he's a rapist or a model citizen is irrelevant.

In the US, you could easily find yourself sentenced for sending that exact message to, say a cop, military man, Christian preacher, or Republican politician, and people on the right would be cheering it on.

UK woman loses jail term appeal after killing man as he sexually assaulted her

A woman who stabbed a man to death as he sexually assaulted her has lost an appeal against her 17-year jail term.

Martyna Ogonowska was handed a life sentence aged 18 after being convicted of the 2018 murder of Filip Jaskiewicz, 23, in a Peterborough car park, using a knife she said she carried for self protection.

Sentencing her at Cambridge crown court in 2019, Judge Farrell QC told Ogonowska that Jaskiewicz “undoubtedly touched you sexually and was violent to you shortly before he was killed”. But he said it did not qualify as self-defence because Ogonowska, who he accepted suffered from some mental disability and had experienced previous trauma, had taken a knife to the scene.

If he slapped her ass, it would count as sexual touching and violence, does that give her the right to stab him to death?

If he’s a rapist I feel like she should be able to text him mean things.

That doesn’t qualify as harassment or intimidation in my books. That’s a rude text. People send those.

In-fucking-sane

A post on FB gets you more time than a violent criminal in California

They should all book a plane ticket to Mexico, then just walk-in to Cali worry free and start a new life
They could just book a plane ticket straight to CA. Mexico actually has more strict immigration screening even toward us american citizens.

How will you feel when Young Blacks in the UK start getting arrested for rapping or expressing Black opinions?

It's all fun and games when white nationalist types and trolls getting jail time, but how about when they start targeting reel PoCs?

I think Eddie Murphy would go straight to jail for performing Delirious, for example.
