Ankle is slowly getting better. Probably have to take next week off just to be safe. Bench feels strong. Shoulder is back to 100%. I'm expecting a huge bench PR next month probably not 500 like I wanted, though. We'll see what Ol Rex got in the tank.

The programming this week is slightly different - he trimmed off an exercise from (it appears) every day. I will endeavor to go harder on what I am doing. A exercise is supposed to be a leg curl, but I don't really have a good option for that in the car hole.

Happy Hump Day, savages.

I would listen to Ghost with this kinky witch.

Maybe sort her into the right Hogwarts House, if you know what I mean.

First matches of the season last night for my son. 4 way duel and he went 3-0. The first two matches were close. He's a bit of a slow starter and tends to wrestle at his opponents level until he's warmed up. That's dangerous because every match matters. But by his third match he was locked in. I could tell by how he jogged out to start the match. A bit sloppy the first two matches but got the win. Physically he looked great. Muscular and lean. He's wrestling at 152 this season it looks like which I prefer. In the off season he got up to 163 lifting heavy running Sheiko and made some solid strength gains and put on some solid muscle. He needed this for confidence. He had a terrible showing at his last tournament a couple months ago. One thing I admire about him and his coach said something similar when he won the Freshman of the Year awards last season is that when it matters he puts on a good match. Here's his last match from last night if anyone gives a hoot.

Holy fucking shit, it's December.

Conditioning Day - BJJ

No gi and yes I wear spats when it's cold because fuck that. We did some de la riva X sweeps and then did 10 minutes of King of the Guard, which I think I had about 30 seconds combined rest. Then three 5-minute rolls. I got to smash a white belt in between getting murdered by a brown belt then black belt.

I also like a snack after no gi class, but I prefer the rice krispy treats I used to get at the Quick Check next door to our old gym.

I also won my most recent competition with a choke. We're perfect for each other!

Oh yeah, the size and strength gain in his legs is instantly noticeable. THANK YOU, MR. SHIEKO!

Yeah. He's always had some good size legs. When he was a baby my wife used to call him Baby Big Legs. And it wasn't a gimmick, Roll. He was walking at 8 months. Those legs were a shoot.

Man, the kid had a tournament today and we were there 10 hours. I also only got 4 hours of sleep last night and only ate a hot dog today so this little workout was a bit rough.

But the kid did well. He went 3-2 with 3 pins and his losses were to seniors. One was really good and made States last season and the other one was average but was huge. Dude was cutting a lot of weight. My son doesn't cut any for 152. But this was good. The seniors that beat him went on to place 1st and 3rd today. His second loss was to the really good senior who pinned him in a minute. That was tough for him but he bounced back and pinned his next opponent. He's getting there. Just has to keep grinding. He on the cusp of hitting that next gear.
