excellent boxing and technique, this is exactly how you throw hooks, you square yourself with your opponent and just widly swing left to right with little to no care about placement.

its amazing that fedor didn't just retire and cure cancer, in his prime he could have easily cured cancer.

Jones spent 2 and a half rounds without throwing a high kick, just setting it up. You can't counter what you don't see coming.

And DC spent 2 and half rounds walking straight into Jones' body shots & low kicks without defending them, which is why he was hurt to the body and dropping his hands in the 3rd round. If he'd actually defended those shots properly he wouldn't be flinching & dropping his hands every time Jones went to throw a kick.

Its interesting actually cormier was defending his head in the beginning with a high guard that's why he was vulnerable to the body but in the second round Cormier started concentrating on defending his body which left him open to the headkick in the third.

Admittedly, I watched a shitty stream on YT. It seemed like he was still tucking his elbow and bringing up his knee/thigh to help defend the body during rd 1,2. I'm a huge DC fan, so I'll need a few days before re watching. Regardless, Jon's body work was brutal Saturday night. I didn't think there was a chance DC was going to absorb those and win a 25min fight.

That's why Jones caught him , mixing it up and that kick starts the same and chooses where he wants to go with it.
