Dear Daniel Cormier: This is how to counter a left kick.....

He actually did know Jones was gonna use the left high kick, in fact to quote DC a couple years back "You're not going to kick me in the head with your left leg Jon".
yeah but Jon is not known for devastating left high kicks and to my knowledge has never fishined someone after a high kick landed

"I hate Fedor because people I don't know on the internet were annoying about him a decade ago."

~ Sherdog

Prime crocop never got outstruck by a lesser stand up fighter ,apart from that flash ko of randleman, and DC is very much behind jones on skills and reach in the standup and still managed to make the fight even until the 3rd round, with DC landing the most significant strikes.

DC's standup skills are very overrated by fans.
Schaub?

Go watch his ufc fight, all he does is threw head kick that was telegraph. That was the main reason why he got smoke.
Yeah because outstriking k1 legends is a piece of cake

you can talk all the shit about crocop but don't criticize his striking game without stating facts , because jones striking is very overrated , he just recently got lit up by a manlet.

Are you questioning Mirko Fucking Cro Cop Filipovic ´s High Kicks???

really dude?

{<huh}

BREAKING: Daniel Cormier has hired a new coach - Summoning.

Yeah why did he block low? Obviously the kick was going high.

Sheesh what a nerd.

Awww somebody just found out about hindsight. Cute.

crocop had 15 years of pro fighting + knee surgeries when he fought schaub
+ his amateur boxing years.

You don't have a valid argument.
of course none of his losses count except to Fedor because he's the greatest ever even though most of his opponents are no names

Checking kicks is a defensive maneuver that is sorely lacking in the ufc.

Yes his losses count but he was way past his prime when he entered the UFC , he started fighting as a pro in 1996 look it up.

Jones set up the kick with a low strike and then went high. The details are in the set up and very few fighters could predict that sequence.

You can counter a strike you can anticipate but one you can't is like swinging in the dark.

But that doesn't excuse Daniel's positioning with that kick. I mean look at him. He has his entire body leaned toward the kick, protecting nothing, and on his tip toes. That is awful form regardless of whether it was to the body or head.

Tbf cormier was a wrestler that learned how to strike. Of course his striking defence against his opponents won't be good

watching Fedor beat a Cro Cop, both in their prime, what a fight, too bad MMA was not as big at that time as it is now, that fight would do HUGE numbers if it was today
