Movie was great. People need to stop crying over politics in movies/entertainment media
Cleveland drug dealers are no different than any other inner city drug dealers who spread out or go on the lam to the next state over I suppose. Seems to be a part of that industry to find new territory somewhat close.I remembered you were from Cleveland. When we first met, you didn’t like that I said bad things about your city based upon my experiences with drug dealers and gang members coming to my city. Just yesterday, two murder suspects from there were arrested here. I can’t seem to find the beacon to turn it off so they cleveland people keep coming here. I know they don’t represent all of the city, but damn does it sour me. You’ve redeemed it a bit

Cleveland sucks in many ways. But to me it sucks the same way all over crowded American urban inner-cities suck. All have been choked out of resources by suburbs & general lack of constructive pride in their neighborhoods. Both the citizens & civil servants.
Cleveland is rough but to me its similar to the low income areas in Akron, Youngstown, Dayton, Elyria, Cincinnati, & Columbus.
You're just dealing with a proximity thing sounds like.
Most of the world speaks some EnglishMost immigrants to the U.S. speak english regardless of where they came from.
It can be. It can also have nothing to do with your preoccupation at all. Because the epitome of American virtue subsumes many things that have nothing to do with that "tension" or interpretations of Superman through the lens of an immigrant. There's entire books out there about it. In fact, here was a long-form Medium article from a year ago that delved into the philosophy of Superman following Zach Snyder's films. Ironically, in looking back at the Christopher Reeves films, and the socio-political trends of that decade in art, it mentions Superman as a foil to immigrant figures.A. I feel like your reading is deeply tied up with what I addressed. You can't talk about the "epitome" of "American" virtue as it relates to Superman without discussing his status as a being born (far) outside of America. And you can't talk about "virtue" in the context of Superman without asking the question of what one is to do with all of that power. That's literally what I said the stories boil down to.
Before Man of Steel, Superman — like the heroes of many children’s shows — always places trust in the objectivity and impersonality of America’s institutions to find true justice. And yet, Christopher Reeves’ Superman films were coming out the same time as the great rebellious, avant-garde films of the 1970s — most significantly, Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather, which rejected the American criminal justice system, re-centered American prosperity within immigrant struggle, zoned in on growing inner-city drug and crime patterns, and inspired a legacy of family-based power politics stories that paint a much more thorough America. Superman during the same era was a homegrown Kansas boy and a pro-law and order figure who dressed like both the police and an American flag. He fraternized with police, he played Uncle Sam roles throughout America’s proxy wars, and he saved America from nuclear destruction by high-tech communists — I mean, Lex Luthor....
He follows traditional, Judeo-Christian ideas of right and wrong — even into the modern era’s DCEU. More blatantly, and more so in previous decades, he cheerfully serves America’s institutions, which are clouded in their own blood-covered history. He’s a nationalist. He’s the picture of strength, but he’s a gentle man — Nietzsche would be distraught at the idea of wasting Godlike abilities on being good in the eyes of Christian Fundamentalists.
You obviously don't understand content creators. No, you obviously don't understand the sentiment.
The content of the movie itself isn't woke. That's why you'll find nothing-- zero, nada, zilch-- complaining about the movie being "woke" prior to that interview.
This isn't coming from the audience. FFS, even on Ben Sharpiro's own YouTube channel all the top upvoted comments, normally the epitome of an echo chamber, are mocking him for trying to skewer Hollywood with this movie.
You didn't see my name when you clicked to post on the FIRST PAGE? At first I thought you were middle-aged but this sounds like father time is really kicking your ass. Did you take all of your pills before breakfast or did you skip it so you'd be more energetic at bingo?Dickweed, I didn’t know this was your thread or I would have stayed out of it but I read the interview on twitter, so I wanted to comment on it.
we have had two nyc thugs (one of whom I had a hell of a fight with and it actually made me infamous “wait, you’re the one that took out Abu-damn, man, props”
You forgot to add, "And everybody clapped."
@Koro_11 I want to hear your story about all the Abus and Mohammeds that you beat up in your street fighting days 20 years ago.
I beat a few names, but none named Yancy, they were all too pussy to stand up for themselves. You forgot to add, "And everybody clapped."

Isn’t superman an illegal immigrant? I think they’d be okay with promoting immigration.
There is no "outcry". I can see you're very determined to convince everyone this is like the Snow White movie or the The Acolyte TV show. It's not.You obviously don't understand content creators.
The reason behind the outrcy doesn't mean anything. I can agree 100% that the shit storm started because of james gunn's interview, but the fact is the people I linked and many more are using the movie as the conduit of the outrage. That's why the thumbnails say Superman movie woke.
Also, Ben Shapiro's comment section have been making fun of him since 2016. You must be new here.
Dude. Out For Justice. Please watch and add to (the top of) your Seagal Great's list. That is all.Under siege and executive decision were good, nothing else though
