Deadlifts and milkshakes

Go buy some iron tablets, take 3-4 per day and report back.

Or iodine depending on where you live and your diet, especially if the P word is imminent.

And low salt?
Sounds like a diet with little variation; Do you even supplement, broette?

Sorry, that was a major exaggeration. That's not all that I eat but those are the main staples.

A typical day for me lately has been

Meal 1
3 eggs, sometimes bacon, 1/2 cup oatmeal

Meal 2
Tuna and Ezekiel bread, salad with goat cheese

Snack
Greek yogurt, peanut butter and jelly, maybe a glass of milk

Meal 3
1/2 lb Chicken, spinach, some other leafy greens, goat cheese, ranch dressing

And throw in that ice cream milkshake somewhere in there.

I don't really supplement anything. I put protein powder in water or milk sometimes but I have a really sensitive stomach and can't have it late at night. If I forget to take it in the morning, I just don't take it at all. I'm pretty lazy with my diet I have to admit. Sometimes I take magnesium at night to help me get to sleep but that's it!

I guess this a low sodium diet? I don't really know.

Notes: I've been seriously neglecting my bench. I don't know why. I'm planning on doing more high rep stuff and getting more heavy weight in my hands more often (heavy singles at the end of max effort session). This has worked for me in the past and I just got lazy.

One more thing: I took a pregnancy test today. Big fat negative! Thanks for scaring me guys.

Haha I really enjoyed how your workout log almost turned into a life event log! Good thing you were able to cross off one thing on your list of possible causes of your fatigue and light headed-ness! :icon_lol:

I guess this a low sodium diet? I don't really know.

It's not so much about the sodium, but table salt is usually fortified with iodine. Salty food like bacon not so much. People who avoid salt out of fear of hypertension may end up with an iodine deficiency for their trouble. Too bad because hypertension is mostly caused by to the balance between sodium and potassium, so it's more a matter of eating balanced (more bananas).

I see some sea food in there, which should have some iodine and sometimes bread is fortified with iodine. Hard to tell, I'd take a generic supplement to be sure and see if you feel better.

For the possible iron deficiency this might not do the trick. From your log title and diet I gather you like your dairy. Dairy is awesome, but it is high in calcium and too much calcium may interfere with iron absorption. Too much starts at about half a gallon per day, but you do need some, because you also need calcium.

Sorry for scaring you with all sorts of deficiencies. Grats with the baby deficiency? And grats on the rep PR.

Just because it's not a human baby doesn't mean it can't be something else...

My ex was vegan and reported the same symptoms as you. Got her on iron tabs and she was better in a week.

Also there is some statistic somewhere that asserts that a large percentage of Western women are probably iron deficient.

listen, the only way a lot of this will become clear is to run bloodwork. If you think you've got a problem with anemia, or multiple other issues, just go get some tests run! If you haven't done it in a while it's not a bad idea anyway.

Fucking Babyeater with the sound logical advice, dammit.

lol, that's what I feel like is inside me sometimes.

And okay okay, I will get a blood test soon! I've been meaning to get to the doc but just a little busy this week finishing up school. Still feeling very lethargic.

Notes: Almost forgot to log todays training session. Deadlift form is still terrible which is depressing considering how much I have scaled it back. I'd post a video but Steve spilled a bottle of water on the camera today and destroyed it. Bad Steve!

My mom has low iron and it completely zaps her energy. It's like night and day when her iron levels are up vs. when they aren't. When her iron levels improve after feeling like shit for a while, she has so much energy it's like she's on meth.

Notes: Steve and I drove to Rhode Island to train with the famous Kyle Keough yesterday. I think this is maybe the 4th time that we've all met up and trained. Kyle found a pretty cool powerlifting gym called Ocean State Gym and we trained there for a few hours. I found it very intimidating at first. It was an ollldddd gym but had some really cool equipment.

Training went really well for me. I felt oddly strong and was convinced that the bars didn't weigh 45 pounds. Everything was moving really quickly. I got 12 reps with 95 when my previous rep PR from not too long ago was 8. I *did* start taking a multivitamin two days ago after being concerned about my iron levels. Besides this training session, I haven't really noticed any changes in energy levels.

Anyways, training with Kyle is always a good time. He's extremely helpful and really motivating. We went out to eat afterwards and picked his brain about training shtuff. You jelly?

Here are some pictures of us and the gym:
