Apparently I do NOT have a hernia! The doctor checked me out today and said there is definitely no hernia. He doesn't seem to know what is causing me so much pain and says it will go away in a few days. I have an ultra sound to get my gallbladder checked out this Thursday. I'm going to take a few more days off of lifting and see how I feel. At the moment, it feels like someone hit me in the stomach with a bat a few times.
Well, let's see... where exactly is the pain in the abdomen? Do you feel any sharp pain in the upper center or right abdomen? Any fever or nausea. do you feel bloated?
Was it the doc that suggested looking at the gallbladder? Or was this something already scheduled? Just trying to figure out what he's got in the back of his head...
The pain is in the upper center and right abdomen. It migrates throughout my whole stomach, but that is where the pain is the most intense. The doctor did suggest the gallbladder but also said I was probably too young for having gallbladder disease, especially because I've never had children or taken birth control. I dunnnoooooooooooooo!!!!!!
What about fever or nausea? From what you describe it does sound like gallbladder issue (maybe stone??), but your risk factors also suggest a low risk for such things... How's the diet? Do your shoulders hurt? Sometimes the pain radiates...
Oh, sorry I didn't answer that part. No, no nausea or fever or shoulder pain.
My diet is shit. This week I've eaten a lot better because of this issue, but I typically eat a lot of fatty foods. Lots of protein and carbs. On the day that my stomach started to hurt, I had eaten an entire pound of ground beef and a box of macaroni and cheese. They were like, "Oh, well, that could be it." But I've always eaten bad my entire life. Maybe it just caught up to me now?
Well it is usually something that will occur eventually under the right circumstances (diet, external risk factors, genetics, etc...). Gallstones can occur in high-fat diet people...
So no shoulder pain. I had a thought that it could be cholecystitis of an acute nature (inflammation of the gallbladder). But without shoulder pain, nausea/vomiting, cramping, maybe???,we can almost rule that out
Did they take your blood?
this is fun... Sorry!
I know I am just a nurse, but I love trying to figure this shit out. Keeps me on my toes...
Chocolate-chip pancakes make everything better. I drowned my sorrows in the following my last bad meet.
are you aware of the website "foodspotting.com"? It cheers me up sometimes. You should go there and make an account and we can follow each other!
I didn't get chocolate-chip pancakes, but I got just about everything else! It did the trick for sure.
I haven't heard of it, I'll check it out!

AM: Went for a hike with my beast (about 2 miles). It was the peak of the Fall leaves changing. So gorgeous! Next time I go up, I'm definitely bringing my camera.

Got a ride home because I'm fat and lazy.
Notes: Had to push through some mental obstacles today. My mind kept telling me that I sucked and should not go so heavy today. Sometimes you just have to turn your brain off.

Nice squatting, way to push that mental block.
Good squatting!
