Deadlift and Snatch form checks

Got a new deadlift video, and a video of some snatch singles. Let me know how my form looks!

365 Deadlift (this was a lot harder than my last video, so should be better for checking form):

~30kg Snatch (first time doing these, I realize I need to get much lower):

I can't comment on snatch cause I'm that not good at them, but to me it looked pretty good for a first time.

Deadlift looked good as well. My only comments would be to focus on squeezing your glutes at the top (in case you didn't, it hard to tell). You also looked a little awkward one the lowering phase, but it's not that big of a deal.
 
I'm not qualified to give any advice on the snatch.

The deadlift looked good.

The snatch has the same problem as the last bad snatcher, and the one before him: you're arm pulling where you should be hip-popping, and you're not dropping far enough into the catch.

Get a broomstick or pvc pipe.

Specifically the slow mo at the end.

Look at where the bar is on his body before he shrugs.

The bar is above his groin before he pops his hips and shrugs.

You are doing the shrug, without hip pop, from just above your knee.

This means you have another 30cm/12in to move the bar before you begin to shrug and pop the hips.

The first deadlift rep you forgot the bar, the second rep looked ok.

Another snatch video. Again watch where the bar is on his body before he pops and shrugs.

lol TNK. those vids are amazing, I'll start working on hip-popping higher, for some reason I always thought u were supposed to pull when the bar cleared the knees.
 
Nice work on the pull, try rolling your shoulders back and tightening your upper back before you pull. If not, you might begin to hunch a bit when the weight gets heavier.

On the clean you pull when the bar clears your knees, on the snatch it's more mid-thigh or higher depending on your grip and body type. It's really the same motion as the clean but the bar is held higher because of the wide grip.
