Multiplat DEAD SPACE [REMAKE] has arrived (January 27th 2023)

God shits in my fucking dinner once again.

Every single Dead Space fan out there wants to see the conclusion of the Isaac and Lexine sagas. Nothing else is even worth discussing.
For sure

even read the first book they wrote about Altman’s origins. Fairly invested in the story once upon a time. Would love to see a solid conclusion to everything. Though TBF, I never finished 3. Crafting guns is as exciting to me as watching paint dry.

Visceral Games is dead and Amy Hennig is with another company. I'm sure there are people out there that can reboot the game or make a legit sequel, but I unfortunately doubt they will be the ones working on it.

I hope they never make a sequel. The bleak ending in the DLC for 3 was awesome.

This.

Practically every horror series that sells well gets far too many sequels with weaker results with every new entry, with very few exceptions.

And Dead Space 3, from what I hear about it, ends unlike any horror series... games or movies... has ever ended with a universal apocalypse.

Question for any die hard Dead Space fans - With Visceral Games being long disbanded and the series creator working on his own Dead Space-like game, do you really trust EA to develop a prequel/reboot/sequel that would be anything close to the quality of the original... two games? (Was about to say trilogy but I hear the 3rd game was shit because of EA's interference adding in co-op and microtransactions).

But as Bioware showed with the ME Legendary Edition perhaps remastering the Dead Space Trilogy would be the best route to preserving the legacy of the series, rather than adding another EA-approved title to the mix.

A lot of people still think it was just Isaac having a hallucination. I loved it though.

If i said it once, ive said it a 1000 times
If youre gonna do a remaster, then fix what sucked, and improve what shined.

That said, the game still looks beautiful, so why not improve the controls?

Wait, what? Why do a reimagining? I think people would prefer a remastered collection released on modern consoles. As someone who's never played the original trilogy, I certainly would.

Nah remasters are lazy and the original still looks great plus you can buy it on all the platforms online game stores.

I enjoyed 1 and 2 a lot. I didn't hate 3, but I also didn't bother to finish it. The first game has a special place in my heart because it's one of the few horror games that has actually managed to keep me entertained enough to finish it.

I really don't understand the appeal. The games were okay, but nothing special and it is not like the 360 is that old that you cannot go and play them on that/get a disc. I mean it's available on Steam.

Grubb is about as inconsistent as you can get but this seems to have a lot of legs.

Having too huge of a backlog to get to some of these EA classics is paying off.

Honestly I'd prefer to just have DS1 and 2 remastered with Ray-Tracing. Not remade, just remastered.

Visceral Games is gone. There's no need to piss on their gravestone

I heard a comment on YouTube from a huge fan of the Dead Space series who also passionately hates EA, and it makes alot of sense.

"The only reason why EA is rebooting Dead Space is because they've lost the exclusive rights to Star Wars. So they've going back into their library of franchise IPs that have alot of good-will and nostalgia with players so they can gin up alot of hype about it being remade.

The problem is we Dead Space fans know EA's top-down decisions for Dead Space 3 to include single-player microtransactions and Co-Op. Those two requirements punched else about the game in the dick because everything had to be built around co-op and microtransactions, especially level design and resource management.

So, the game failed critically and commercially, the series cancelled, the development team disbanded, and now EA is attempting to resurrect Dead Space's corpse to punch it in the dick again in the hopes it will make EA money."

"Motive, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), today announced during EA Play Live 2021 the sci-fi classic survival horror game,Dead Space™, will be returning as a remake completely rebuilt from the ground up. Dead Space is being developed exclusively for next generation consoles and PC, raising the level of horror and immersion to unprecedented heights for the franchise through stunning visuals, audio and controls powered by the Frostbite™ game engine. Fans will experience an improved story, characters, gameplay mechanics and more as they fight to survive a living nightmare aboard the desolate mining starship, the USG Ishimura, all while uncovering the dreadful mystery of what happened to the slaughtered crew and ship".

“The Dead Space franchise made a huge impact on the survival horror genre when it was released 12 years ago, and I came to Motive as a fan first to specifically work on this game,” said Phillippe Ducharme, Senior Producer of Dead Space.“We have a passionate team at Motive who are approaching this remake as a love letter to the franchise. Going back to the original and having the opportunity to do so on next-gen consoles excited everyone on the team. As we look to modernize the game, we’ve reached out to dedicated fans and invited them to provide us with feedback since the early stages of production to deliver the Dead Space game they want and for new players to enjoy as well.”
