DDP's performance was overshadowed by Strickland's incredible durability.

Thats not the same thing as competence
And "competence" isn't the same as "this guy should have been shooting takedowns, so it's suspicious that he didn’t." You're missing the point entirely, that him having an ability he doesn't use isn't enough to suggest him not using it is suspect of some level of corruption. Instead, you read the first few words of my post, and considering how quick you replied, seemingly not the rest of it or the post I was quoting, and decided to get defensive on Strickland's behalf cuz I quoted the guy directly

This picture was used by Strickland fans to gaslight themselves and each other that Dricus would have no chance in the striking. He sure proved them wrong in the rematch.
I'm not a Strickland fan but your comment has nothing to do with what I said. Cope harder next time

What his face look like after the fight? Show it, but you won't bc his nose doesn't look like that.

Getting your ass handed to you for 5 rounds overshadows the guy's performance who won?

Strickland the "competent grappler" who, on that 6 fight win streak, only shot takedowns in 2 of them, once against Allen and 6 against Hall, but even Hall, who was also obviously a striker with limited grappling, Sean didn't shoot until round 2. But Alex knocked out Sean in less than 3 minutes. So I guess Sean was going full EliteXC against Uriah too. Man, the fix has been in for a while
LOL oh yeah... you're right... Urijah Hall totally didn't train a second of wrestling in his near decade in the UFC. He's the exact same level of MMA grappler as a guy who was still actively competing in kickboxing the year before he fought Strickland. He also totally didn't have a known issue folding under pressure and was the same level of striking threat as the guy who had KO'd the undefeated MW champion at the time LOL are you seriously this r*tarded???

You're confusing "doesn't shoot a lot of takedowns" with "being unable to shoot takedowns". Strickland is a very well-rounded fighter with a BJJ Black belt who had a very obvious advantage against Pereira. It is legitimately suspicious that he runs right at Alex and fights completely into his opponent's strengths and then gets noticeably favorable career treatment after.

And yet it didn't look like that at end of fight. Guess that why you won't post any post fight pics.

DDP landed so many big shots that would have knocked out or at least knocked down most middleweights, such as full-power spinning fists, spinning elbows, and right hands. He also landed left high kicks to the head and body all day. But because Strickland was unfazed (until the huge right hand that broke his nose), people think this fight was boring. Even Pereira’s fights would have looked boring and unimpressive if he had faced someone who could absorb all of his shots.

Bisping's esque:

STrickland wouldn't stand a chance in a ring. He is so durable because he is spending most of the time going back. Strickland wasn't unfazed, he was even more gun shy than usual. That's more impressive than finishing him quickly. He beat Strickland at what he was good at in that fight and went the 25 mins. That's the kinda loss that breaks a guy, you can't pay that off as getting caught. DDP beating him at every aspect of MMA>

Is it ? The guy just kinda seems dumb to be honest. He could have wrestled a tiny bit in this fight and disrupted DDPs kick heavy style, but as always chose to pray for a jab to get the finish.

I agree with a lot of this. The thing is, Strickland's clean shots weren't exactly of the headsnapping variety either. He's got a good, hard jab, but the right hand has to follow it with more regularity. It almost never does. Can't win a fight if you don't land powershots. Landing a jab to the head isn't better than landing a kick to the legs or midsection. Strickland didn't really get the teep going much in this one either. I thinkt he leg kicks affected him somewhat.
Stickland didn't get his head snapped back even once til the fourth round. Strickland rolls with shots, parries and slips. He took most of the kicks on the hip or the arms, checked a lot of the low kicks. He landed a ton of 2s, I disagree that they were mostly jabs, although the jabs were more solid than the strikes he was eating too. I think he just has that style and has trouble breaking away from it. And I think if he went too balls out, he'd end up like Machida vs Shogun 2 where it doesn't suit him. This fight matchup is kind of similar to Shogun vs Machida, which had a similar split among viewers who saw it as a close fight of fewer strikes but clean vs more volume and an accumulation of shots, while the other half saw it as a one-sided beatdown.

Just like back then, the judges who saw it as close were right. These fights separate a sophisticated eye for striking vs a casual's eye.
