DDP's performance was overshadowed by Strickland's incredible durability.

Stickland didn't get his head snapped back even once til the fourth round. Strickland rolls with shots, parries and slips. He took most of the kicks on the hip or the arms, checked a lot of the low kicks. He landed a ton of 2s, I disagree that they were mostly jabs, although the jabs were more solid than the strikes he was eating too. I think he just has that style and has trouble breaking away from it. And I think if he went too balls out, he'd end up like Machida vs Shogun 2 where it doesn't suit him. This fight matchup is kind of similar to Shogun vs Machida, which had a similar split among viewers who saw it as a close fight of fewer strikes but clean vs more volume and an accumulation of shots, while the other half saw it as a one-sided beatdown.

Just like back then, the judges who saw it as close were right. These fights separate a sophisticated eye for striking vs a casual's eye.
His nose was bleeding in the first round...
He got caught multiple times in that fight, especially to the body with kicks.

He became hesitant once DDp started blasting body kicks and head kicks.

The strike count is close, but one of them is landing jabs, whilst the other was landing head kicks, body kicks and crosses.

So why can't y'all post the post fight pic of Sean? It's it bc ddp still took the worse beating of the two in the first fight? Sean put a worse best down on ddp in the first fight, than what he got from ddp in the second fight. Facts are just facts.

Because "beating" isn't defined by visuals. I gave you the facts of how much damage he suffered.

Wow a broken nose vs all that cte Strickland gave ddp. Again between both fights, ddp took the worse beating.

He landed good shots but I think the lack of technique shows in those moments.
