DDPs coach blames the ref for Dricus loss etc

South African Edmund is MMA’s current number one CLOWN.

He needs to do DDP a solid and let him get with a real team where he can pick up some new tricks and get sharpened by other elite caliber fighters.

Doubling down on his stupidity just makes him look more self centered.

The ref could probably have stood them up a couple of times, but tbh if the only path to victory was via ref intervention then Khamzat deserved the win either way

Pride/Rizin rules would have made the fight more entertaining but realistically fighters need to come up with a broader answer for Brazza wrasslin in the long-term or it'll just remain dominated by lay-and-pray tactics to win rounds

These aren't "lay and pray" tactics. The last fight Khamzat crushed his his opponent's face in....

lol DDP smile to his coach between round 1 and 2 and said "that's all his got right ?" and his coach said "yeah that's right" Their whole game plan was Khamzat gasses out after round 1. when that didn't happen they didn't have a plan B.

ZERO adjustments. Just told his fighter to do more of the same sh*t that was getting his ass kicked.

One of the worst coaching performances in the UFC since Greg Jackson told Carlos Condit to pull guard on prime Maia

He's being interviewed by submission radio and seems to be coping.

He said they "dominated" the standup.

He did say they absolutely don't want a quick rematch, since he acknowledged they are way behind in the "Russian wrestling style".

"If we had an extra minute, that fight would be ours" - Ignoring that DDP slipped out from top position at the end of the fight.

Said they practiced everything except the crucifix.

Said they worked with very good Russian wrestlers/grapplers and put DDP in very bad positions that Dricus would always reverse it in 30 seconds.

Basically, they couldn't find anyone with Khamzat's level of control.

"He stayed on Dricus like a fucking blanket".

He's a shitty loser for sure, but at least he admitted that numerous times. Blaming the ref is dumb, though. The guy isn't my cup of tea. Didn't like hearing all his complaining.

however, I do like that he promised " big changes" in dricus's training and contacting the right people. Love that he plans on taking 4 months off to solely focus on that part of dricus's game before even entering a camp for another fight

<{MingNope}>

What a fuckin idiot.

Fight sucked.

Ref did what they could for the fans.

Translation: "Please don't fire me, DDP."

I’d thought getting dominated would put the idea of being ”the baddest mw alive” to bed and they’d start figuring out how to change things up.

Nope, still in full denial.

Dricus had a couple of quick stand ups that he didn't deserve and still lost.

if your coach blames Ref, something out of your control, maybe find a coach that will train you better for high performance wrestling opponents. Could take a while even with an excellent coach. Also need training partners. DDP could learn quicker than most.

There was nothing DDP could've done differently that would've created a different outcome. He couldn't stop Khamzat's takedowns & was being smothered & controlled on the ground. Absolutely nothing he could've done but purely focus on stuffing takedowns & risk getting cracked.

Yeah, he realized after this fight that the guys they worked with in camp weren't on the appropriate level to simulate Khamzat's top control, since Dricus did a lot better against them than in the actual fight.

Regarding the timeline, I thought he said they needed 1 or 2 weeks off first, then about 12 weeks of work, followed by a 12 weeks training camp, for a total of about 4 months.

That would take us to early next year, but I can't see how they would give him the rematch unless 2-3 of the other contenders are unavailable and they step in on short notice.

What standup? Those 20 seconds of standup?

They will not get a quick rematch or a late rematch.

What? Seriously?

If they could have, maybe that guy would have been champion?!?!?!

The disrespect Goddard is getting by being called “the ref” by MM and every other poster, I swear.

DDP is a good offensive grappler but average at-best defensive grappler. It did appear they just assumed Khamzat would gas without “making him work”.

Khamzat took him down at will and did what he wanted with him. Yeah, it sucked to watch and I hate that the rules allow it but they do.

Learn TDD and stop crying. That was the worst champ performance ever possibly

As bad as Woodley vs Usman.
