DC's plan for Jones

Jones grappling coach said they had a few surprises for their rematch at UFC 197. I'm pretty sure one of those was going to be jumping guard for a guillotine when DC goes for a single leg. Might be in the works for UFC 200 now.

Makes sense. At one point he really looks like if he just went for it he could have got it and I'm sure his grappling coach thought the same thing.

thats the way for Cormier to win this fight, but thats gonna be a lot harder to do than he thinks. Jones will probably get the better of the wrestling exchanges again, or at least be equal in it

If he was going to actually implement that game plan, he wouldn't have brought in that 6'9" Pro kickboxer to step up his striking game.

He probably just wants jones to THINK he's going to do try and do that. lol

Jones proved in the first fight was a better wrestler. Credentials be damned.

No he didn't. He softened up Cormier, then got a couple of TDs that went nowhere. The wrestling skill DC has shown in the octagon is on another level.

Bingo. But no, fans haven't learned shit since Condit promised a 'dogfight' against Nick....

How did he soften up cormier when he took cormier down early in the first round?

his plan is to take a beating, like in their first fight

What do you call this wrestling move?

No. Absolutely untrue. DC may be a better Olympic or folk wrestler but Jones has shown to be the better MMA wrestler and it's not even close.

Still more entertaining than Oblique kicks from 10 feet away for 25 mins

I agree fitch was the worst,

But at least when DC does it, he actually does big damage when he takes people down

not really
he dunked jones in the 5th

Gus once, DC doesn't really count he didn't have any control whatsoever absolutely wouldn't have counted for points in a wrestling match but i give it .5 since he lifted him over his head

Gus took Jones down more than once by Jones` own words (I know official stats say only 1).

Bullshit.

i think it's a smart plan. will it be an entertaining fight if he pulls it off? probably not.

i think dc absorbed too many body shots trying to hang with jones in the standup, and it cost his endurance later in the fight.

this time dc will embrace the grind. or at least try to get back to his bread and butter.

He couldn't last time and that was his plan. going to be a long night for dc

It's a weird way to split hairs. As they match up head to head, DC was practically shut out wrestling-wise(even while "fresh"). Jones also had more control clinch-wise.

DC being "on another level" doesn't seem to help him dictate where the fight goes against Jones shockingly.

I'd be amazed, and more than a little impressed, if he managed to pull that off.
I wouldn't bet on it though.
