Bad Look for UFC....... Good look for Tyron's Bank Account /
Askren and Woodley came from WRESTLING, not from boxing!
Learn the difference!!!
It's not a dumb comment, it's just people think it's impossible or something. That's part of the problem. Before the Conor and Jake Paul boxing fights people were high on mma's boxing skill level, those fights changed the narrative. Now it's mma fighters can't have boxing at that level because of this and that. They are excuses and they can get their boxing at that level. They just don't train the same as boxers and understand the boxing techniques at that level of understanding. It's mostly just the basics that mma fighters work on and that's why there is a skill gap difference between mma and boxers.Jesus, but you are an obstinate dumbass.
Most MMA fighters who "won BJJ tournaments" came from BJJ into MMA< not the other way around, kid!

He's not cutting much. He fights close to his walk around weight.Nonsense. CLEARY, Jake here is OBVIOUSLY cutting himself to death trying to get to 190.

Just look at how drained he is? Guy's CLEARLY really a 210-220lb weight bully.

I never said he wouldn't. He has a lot of holes that boxers can expose.Paul would get KOed by any half way decent boxer.
That's the point, he's not even considered high level in boxing yet. He's skilled but in actuality his boxing level is around amateur level. Could be early pro level, we'll see when he fights an actual boxer to gauge his real skill set. That just make the overall argument worse. That someone with that level of training and skillset is able to do this to UFC/mma world champions.Let alone that we're also very loosely defining Jake as a boxer. He's fought:
Only 3/6 of his opponents have been actual fighters, and only 4/6 athletes at all. Nor does he even have a long training or amateur background and was just waiting till ready to fight or something. He just started doing it at the same time he started training. He's not beating fellow boxers to really call him a boxer yet himself. If he were coming off the Tommy Fury win that this fight should've been I'd be ready to start calling him a boxer, but right now it's being very generous/disengenuous to call him one as though he really is an expert specialist with his hands.

People are pretending he has the extensive training, amateur career, and pro career behind him of a "real" boxer, and not a guy who's essentially been doing the beginning of an amateur career. Like yeah, it's one thing if you took a guy like Woodley and matched him against a comparative top 15 boxer, of course he's supposed to lose that and that's a real mismatch. But against Jake's *actual* experience level I don't understand how people can say he shouldn't be losing these bouts. If he truly has better striking than them it's because they somehow wasted a huge portion of their career never learning. Which is a separate problem entirely.
And hell, but it's worth mentioning that before Jake took up boxing he was actually an amateur wrestler, which is the very knock people are using to justify these MMA guys losing. They're acting like he only knows how to throw punches, when Jake himself is a grappler who learned striking too lol.
So... you don't post? You just did, kid. LOL
That alone proves how dumb you are.
So you admit Woodley, Askren and every single fighter Jake called out fought at WW or below. Thank you for admitting you were wrong.
It seems you enjoy getting humiliated...so keep trying.
Legit referring to the meme contest. Keep up.
Jake Paul also came from wrestling, not boxing.
Kid, it seems you are just too fucking stupid to understand. It's not a dumb comment, it's just people think it's impossible or something. That's part of the problem. It's normal for an mma fighter to have world class grappling but not world class boxing? LOL both is possible.
Logic defeats, you, kid.I have 4K messages in 11 years. You have 33k in 10. You not being able to tell the difference shows you aren’t to bright.
Who cares. His real weight in about the same as Paul.
Shouldn’t you be asking me if I would like a large fry with that by now. Since we know that is what you do for a living.
I understand it well and have experience in both. I've trained with pros in both boxing and mma. I understand the difference very well. The difference is boxing in mma training for the most part is very basic, and that's why the skill gap difference is there. They aren't training advanced boxing, they aren't around high level boxers/trainers/coaches to know the difference. The reason why more mma fighters have world class grappling, is because they are training and around other high level grapplers so their skill levels increase overall. Not a lot of mma fighters are around high level boxers in training/sparring/coaching. That's the difference.Kid, it seems you are just too fucking stupid to understand.
Boxing for MMA is a lot less than you need for boxing itself.
The defense changes (because you have to defend against kicks and takedowns as well).
The angles changes.
The positioning changes.
The fucking mindset changes.
To give you a simple example: Go watch Conor & Floyd again.
Check how many times Conor advanced and "took Floyd's back". Quite a few times.
Why is that? Because in MMA this would be a great advantage. In Boxing, it's stupid and the referee separates you.
Those are simple things that separates Boxing from MMA.
Boxing only defends the upperbody. MMA you have to defend all your body against kicks, takedowns, elbows, etc.
The glove also changes....
The ONLY thing that is the same is that in both you throw punches. But that's saying Volleyball is the same as soccer because both uses balls.
You go box him up then mate, if it bothers you that much...This argument would be fine if Paul was an actual boxer. He's a YouTuber who has been training a few years and hasn't fought a single actual boxer. Y'all trying to act like an MMA guy got starched because he stepped outside his element. There's punching in MMA too...and apparently MMA fighters are pretty bad at it...
There is always a chance, even if it's a really small chance, it still counts...We don't really know this. Woodley's more recent MMA fights have shown that he's not necessarily going to achieve what he's capable in the octagon. Or in the boxing ring, for that matter.
