DAZN CEO plans to ‘Take On The UFC’ with Bellator partnership

Again, Ariel Helwani asks the questions fans wanted answered: I watched his YouTube interview with Scott Coker and Ariel made a point to confirm the Mousasi vs Rory card is only exclusively aired on DAZN! WTF! Coker said there's a 30 day free trial, so I'll try that. I couldn't find anything on monthly cost, but I suppose I'll buy a month if Bellator has a good card, sorta in lieu of PPV. I'd prefer the good cards on TV so I can DVR and rewatch later or again and again.

Wrong - I have friends who're torn between Casuals and Non-MMA Fans who actually watched a few Strikeforce events. One watched because he wanted to see Fedor vs Rogers after I hyped up Fedor. Another made me proud, on his own volition, ordering Lawler vs Shields.
Wrong yourself. I said most people didn't tune into Strikeforce to watch the up and coming prospects.

I subscribed to Strikeforce to watch Lawler vs Shields.

I'm guessing people who made a point to watch Fedor and whatever big name fighters didn't watch the lesser known guys.

I read DAZN like "days inn" and all i can think about is like a pretty ok place to stay when traveling.
I thought it had something to do with Asians, but I think wiki said it's UK and the North American side is run by former ESPN guy.

Sure they did. Rockhold was the champ as well as Gilbert. TWood was on the come up and fought for the WW belt. DC won the GP.

then you havent been paying attention. they have a lot of prospects and building guys records. Coker is doing his own thing and doesnt seem interested in taking on the UFC. Grand Prix, cross promotions, Kickboxing etc. This DAZN guy seems interested in battling for viewers but his service is a streaming platform and Bellator still has Paramount.

Bellator has alot of up and comers I'm interested in for sure.

DAZN will have iirc 7-8 exclusive bellator cards as well as streaming another 15 or so bellator events while simulcast on paramount.DAZN also has a boxing promotion they signed with and will feature tons of combat sports events.

It will be interesting for sure to see how things playout but bellator is lucky to have gotten this revenue.

Im happy for Bellator. Been a fan of theirs since watching the Bjorn tournements. They have a close to home type feeling. Just fun and relatable to the fans. Also, liked SF.

I've been wanting to cut the cord and if this service has a lot of sports I want to see all in one place. It seems like a helluva deal. I heard content varies by country so I wonder if a VPN would be a way around that.

DAZN is expanding the countries it's available in as well as expanding content. The price for DAZN is still WAY cheaper then paying for ppvs and fight pass.

Bellator just needs to treat fighters better, pay them decent, allow sponsors and not allow divas to run the show (ie, conor, ronda, etc.)
Seems like Bellator already does that. They need to somehow get MMA viewers to realize UFC isn't the entirety of MMA. They need more Bellator fighters creating brand awareness. I don't recall Bellator fighters on late night talk shows or Dancing with the Stars, etc.

I wouldn't mind if Bellator trimmed their roster and only had top guys and a few unknown prospects so that each card is stacked. As is, a lot of their events are skippable.
