DAZN CEO plans to ‘Take On The UFC’ with Bellator partnership

This. They're gonna continue to poach leftovers n guys like Machida. Maybe snag up Iaquinta if he gets cut for this bs now. But they are doing a good job getting guys like Ruth or Fortune bros or Pico the right fights on the right events. Slowly building them, getting fans used to seeing them and they are performing most importantly (minus the Pico debut hiccup). They got Kayla Harrison now. If they keep finding these guys that come from wrestling/judo/boxing etc, they'll eventually find a star soon enough
Bellator snagging up UFC's top 5 fighters too, many of which are carrying win streaks or momentum, like Gegard Mousasi, Ryan Bader, Rory MacDonald. I feel like UFC would never let those guys slip a few years ago.

the guys getting paid that are 0-0 who are making MMA debuts and getting exposure

Stop being a retard like Frankie and pretending its msot of the roster.. its like 5% of their roster who would've had to do the exact same thing at a lesser promotion

Nothing worse than boot lickers who support fighters getting paid squat. I'd call you a shill but I'm guessing that you would shit on fighters for free.

They're fucking 0-0 or 0-1 when they're getting paid that shit

How much do you want a company to pay for an athlete that has no actual defined worth yet, you fucking idiot?

UFC signed TV deals worth $300+ mill.

Or did you forget about that?
Do you give up because you don't make as much as other people? Companies pass up other companies all the time.

i saw a job for DAZN today

bellator is growing

They have nfl streaming rights, as well as pga, soccer and some boxing

I’ve never heard of these guys lmao. 99% chance whatever they stream for the NFL is already covered in the US without the pay wall. There is no way in hell they have any exclusive streaming rights to games here in the States.

Depends on the country. I don't think NFL in North America even airs on DAZN only in some overseas countries, and they haven't even started their boxing service. Might need to put on some actual fights before you start pulling that card.

Bader was never going to be a UFC champ..
Rory was on a losing streak but he should have stayed in the UFC. Because if he recovered and the belt, he would have been rich. He needed to bet on himself..

Yeah but Rory's title bout vs. Lawler was one of the greatest fights in UFC history and he probably hit his highest height in popularity because of it.

Look at bellators next 2 events and tell me they are trying to compete. They aren't big enough to go to a subscription service. This was a money move for now that will end with them going out of business when it's over

It was great but he lost and then he lost another one. So he was in a spot where the UFC offer was not going to be as high as he wanted. However if he got back on track, and won the belt, like Woodley did (A man he has a win over) the money was going to be there..

Right. I agree Rory could have climbed ranks, beat Woodley again to become champion, and made money there. All I was trying to say is that he didn't because Bellator snagged one of UFC's best fighters.

Bellator are just hogging TV and news space that's better off going to PFL or a foreign promotion like ACB. Bellator is not serious about MMA. PFL went out of their way to sign the best unsigned talent not in the UFC, while Bellator licks its chops waiting to sign fighters out of their prime. If we're going to have old fighters, I'd much rather see them in a legit MMA promotion. That way the fans and media can follow that promotion instead of a waste of space like Bellator. Others struggle to get TV deals, while Bellator occupies real estate.

Bellator needs to rebrand as Paramount FC, dominate the industry and make the UFC their cuck

Bellator just needs to treat fighters better, pay them decent, allow sponsors and not allow divas to run the show (ie, conor, ronda, etc.)
