Dave Herman training as hard as ever

War PeeWee tonight! I don't feel too good about this fight, though. Harris certainly isn't elite, but he's 7-3 with all his wins coming by KO. Given Dave's terrible striking defense and weakening chin, this isn't the most ideal opponent.

Oh well. I didn't hear about Walt's injury until the night of the fight.

With an extra month and a half, I wonder if Herman will expand his weight-lifting-only training regime? Maybe he'll add yoga, or wrestle with midgets or something?

I liked Pee Wee after his debut against Einemo a few years back, but it's a damn fact: Herman was the easiest HW to KO in UFC history.

y last fight (a decision win over Kalib Starnes at Titan FC 28), I pretty much just ran...

Lol is this for real? He must be joking. If so I'm a fan.

Dave Herman training as hard as ever = Dave Herman not training at all.

From MMAjunkie.com:

Most fighters would takea co-main-event slot extremely seriously, but Herman said he

Read the entire thread. A guy on here has trained with him before. Herman isn't serious about training or anything else, except maybe pot smoking. In the past, he's trained a little (in Nashville, Team Quest, etc.). However, it's clear from his horrible striking defense that he's mostly telling the truth. He's very gifted genetically, and stays in decent shape (though his cardio can be suspect), but he trains very, very little.

With Walt Harris getting another shot in the UFC, I wonder who Dave will fight next? As I said earlier, I didn't like this fight. Harris isn't that good, but when he wins, it's almost always by KO/TKO. I think Dave's chin weakened a good bit in the UFC (Nelson, Gonzaga, etc.) and his striking defense resembles swiss cheese.

Maybe he'll get another bloated MW/LHW, or someone he can overpower and outwrestle. Or some totally washed-up opponent. Sadly, that's about all a Peewee fan can hope for these days.

Lol @ hiding under the cage and wearing a faith hill tshirt for a month. Thats hilarious

I'm also curious. Hopefully Aronson sets something up quick.

He has the ability, but doesn't. As a fan that's frustrating.

Dave Herman is still only 30 years old. He had a tough road in the UFC but he's won his only fight since getting cut. With how athletic he is, I see him finding his way back to relevance if he wants to. Herman's more talented than half the HW division in the UFC, if he trains hard he could easily be back there.

Herman is more talented than practically anyone. But he flat out refuses to train hard. Don't expect anything from him.

What are people basing Dave Herman not training off of? His joke interviews?

Sherdoggers, I swear....

Well in this thread there's a guy who said he trained with him and he was pretty unmotivated. I don't see any reason for someone to make up a lie like that.

Sherdoggers, I swear....

His interviews and the fact that he hasn't really developed as a fighter since like 2009.

Uh, his gameplan (or complete lack thereof) against Big Nog and other fighters? His non-existent striking defense? A totally unnecessary loss to Choi Mu-Bae because he gassed in a couple of minutes?

Even in his wins against Einemo and pre-UFC competition, it was evident that he was at best a diamond in the rough. He has a wrestling background and has learned some kicks and submissions, but his overall game screams "I barely train and it shows!"

Earlier in the thread, someone who trained with him in Nashville verified Herman's non-work ethic in the gym. And that's when he bothers going to the gym.
