Dave Chappelle‘s Netflix

Just got finished watching some Dave Chappelle on Netflix (first timer here), it was pretty good overall, but a bit light on subject matter. I wouldn't put him in my top ten comedians, but he made me laugh pretty hard a few times. I could do without that contrived move he does when he swings the mic into his legs, doubles over, and pretends he is laughing at his own ridiculousness, as it comes off as a blatant technique. I would watch more of his work though.

I tried Bill Burr a couple of times but I wasn't feeling it. I will give him one more try, as I like political comedy the best. Anyone know where I can find his best work?

the chappelle show is his best work. its regarded by many as the best sketch show of all time, he had a lot that were supposed to be commentary on perceptions of the black community, but he got mad because people took it seriously

Do you think his old material holds up well? I have never seen that show, would it be worth downloading in 2017?

Isn't he talking about Bill Burr? Although in fairness, he mentioned two comedians in the same post and then asked for his best work, so I don't know what he was asking.

Does he have anything you would recommend?
All of the netflix specials are great except for "Walk your way out" which is the new shitty special he has...."I'm sorry you feel that way" and under are awesome on netflix

most of it yes, the clothes are outdated but not the material

Sweet, thanks guys, I will give them a go this week.

Very underwhelmed. Dave set the bar too high. I won't watch them again

Seasons 1 & 2 of Chappelle Show is the best comedy sketch run I've ever seen (Coming from someone that watched a ton SNL, Madtv, In Living Color, Ali G, etc.). Also would check out what I consider his best stand up Killin' Them Softly. For What it's Worth is a really solid stand up special as well.

I will definitely give them a go with a clear and open mind. Looking forward to it. Do you think weed would help?

I've only seen the first one, and didn't think it was that great to be honest. I laughed at a few parts, but feel people are giving it way more credit it deserves. Like someone else said, people wanted it be great so badly that they treat is as such. I'll keep an open mind for the second one as i do like his comedy.

the tranny ceo dropping her dick on the conference room table made me laugh really hard.

chappelle has been my favorite since half baked so i just enjoy anything he does. his face makes me laugh

Watch chapelles killing them softly.

I just watched the first one. I'll admit I literally LOL'd a few times. I thought it was really well done but I'm a huge fan of Dave's humor. He tries to get a little to political and preachy once in a while and most of his jokes tend to be about race, but in general I love that he's not afraid of most topics.

I definitely recommend it to anyone who can handle a little off color humor.

I haven't watch a lot of standup lately but I give it easily 7/10, maybe a bit more.

I compare that on a scale of the most recent Louis CK I heard that was 10/10 and the most recent Amy Shumer (sp?) I tried to listen to but turned it off after 20 minutes and give it 0/10

I saw him live in Radio City 3 years ago and he recycled some of the jokes for the Netflix specials but they're still very funny and worth checking out.

No offense but you obviously don't understand how stand up comedy works.
