Media Darren Till trashes "fake" Ian Garry for his ways (looking for content etc)

"Ian Garry is such a good fighter man…But by god is he possibly the fakest human on earth, fake beyond all beliefs. It’s so hard to like him. I’ve literally sat in my bedroom with my own little
demons in my head telling me to force myself to like him. For his skills. He’s calling Khamzat a child when he was being fake. That whole interaction was fake. And when Ian turned you could
see he was scared. Khamzat is like me. That’s why we were best mates. If you chat shit when we see you what is…"

"Ian is a really good fighter but he’s just such so unlikeable. So, so, so unlikeable. Even hating on Leon’s performance the way that he did. Garry got kicked out of that gym as he did of others
because he’s a wanker, at the end of the day. As much as he’s a good fighter and I’ve tried to support Ian Garry - he is just a proper, proper wanker… A fake wanker at that!"

war Darren

The thing about Garry's fake persona is that he made himself mentally strong through unchained narcissism and self-belief. He's never going to get distracted by any kind of trash talk because he's not on anyone or anything's team outside of his family and presumably close circle of training partners. He'll get in Chimaev's face and concern troll him like a bitch no matter how cringe everyone thinks he is, because in his mind he has all the aura. Doesn't matter if Chimaev is an elite Cockasian wrestler, he's Ian The Future Machado Garry. It's honestly funny to watch, all he needs is a couple of finishes like Usman in 2021 to shake off his growing reputation as a slimy decision fighter.

Whether or not you find a fighters persona cringe or not is subjective, what's factual however, is that one of these two gentlemen is fighting the best in the world in the biggest MMA org, and the other is KOing semi retired, washed up bums in an influencer ran freakshow fake boxing promotion.

Good evening sirs.
you realise he gets paid a lot to box there. His knee was lingering injured and he went to box. He got good hands. This whole nerd battle online doesn´t affect what he buys with his money. Fighters don´t sit there thinking should they make money or make sherdog happy for "good comments".

Can somebody explain to me why anyone would open a gawddamn thread about a Darren Till quote in the UFC Diskussion?

Till is as relevant as whale oil!

I mean I do get the sense Ian can be "fake" at times, but from what I saw in that video Khamzat was definitely in the wrong there and it seems to be a habit of his to lash out losing his cool

This guy could start a fight in an empty room

Yep, fighters who come first tend to finish their real fighting career first

In other news, water is wet

I don’t really have a take on that interaction, but it’s not surprising that Till would have his buddy’s back.

After watching the interaction a few times it seems clear that Khamzat was annoyed, but still moving on, until Garry goes back again after giving the camera a smug look.

Maybe the first back slap was friendly, but he clearly knew what he was doing when he went back the second time and cocked his head.

Yeah the guard got in between them, and Garry was still trying to get past the guard. That's when Khamzat had enough.

I love Darren Till and still wish he was in the UFC

I agree. I definitely had the feeling he was chasing for clout and was trying to make something happen.
