-Christ, even with Mystique's somewhat limited screen time there were still several scenes where miss Lawrence wasn't wearing blue make-up. Mutant and proud my ass.
-Quicksilver gets incapacitated early, meaning no badass moment for him like in DOFP or Apocalypse. Lame.
-Mystique's line about Charles not sacrificing anything, even though she was there when he got shot in the back, was stupid. Her follow-up line about changing the name to X-Women was groan inducing. If it was the writer's intention to make her seem shallow and mean spirited, mission accomplished.
-So, instead of using any of the numerous characters that were originally involved in the Phoenix storyline like the Shi'ar, Hellfire Club, or hell even using someone like Mr. Sinister (who at least has ties to Jean in the comics), the writers just make up a new character to be the villain? WTF? Even worse her alien friends are given very little back story and just devolve into being mindless cannon fodder by the end of the movie. What a waste.
-Mystique's death was emotionless and had no impact. The directing and writing is very poor all around.
-Fassbender once again proves to be the MVP of the movie, just like in Apocalypse.
-Storm is under-powered and struggles with a man using his dreadlocks as a weapon. Fuck.
- The government seems to turn on the X-Men awfully quickly. Jean goes crazy and kills a couple of cops, so all of the sudden the years of goodwill just disappears? I'm sure they've had at least some run-ins with evil mutants who have killed some humans so why the quick turn? Oh right, bad writing.
-Magneto having his own island makes no sense. He was responsible for killing thousands of people in Apocalypse and he gets his own island? What?
-Jean just blows up at the end, because, reasons? It didn't really come off as a noble sacrifice like it did in the comics or even the 90's cartoon show. Just like Mystique's death, Jean's death felt shallow and emotionless.
-It wasn't all bad. The effects look good, the performances were good all around (I don't really get the hate that Sophie Turner gets), and......um.....I guess that's it.
