Just finished up Andor and figured I’d catch up on Daredevil and well… may have to try again another time because the cgi, writing, and some of the acting is pretty bad.

Granted it was the first episode, but yikes.

Jessica Jones is back. Krysten Ritter is reprising her role of the superhero-turned-private eye, entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe by being cast in season two of Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again.

Ritter starred as Jones in the eponymous Netflix series in the mid-2010s. The series and actress generated considerable acclaim and awards at the time and is considered a highlight during the Netflix era of Marvel television.

The casting announcement was made during Marvel’s portion of Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers Tuesday.

Marvel’s presentation also included a first look at Wonder Man, the series that offers a meta take on Hollywood and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley.

The addition of Ritter, who joined Daredevil star Charlie Cox on stage for the reveal, is a boost to Born Again, which officially folds characters and actors from the Netflix-era Marvel series (which weren’t made by Marvel Studios) into the MCU.

Born Again has been a solid performer on Disney+, with the season finale notching an uptick, according to insiders. The show has also lifted the Netflix seasons, which now also stream exclusively on Disney+.

Marvel has been in recalibrating mode on the television side, and Daredevil represents that new model. The company famously made a splashy TV debut with a string of limited series that featured big-name stars that had appeared, for the most part, in its big-budget tentpole movies. It treated the shows as such, eschewing a traditional TV development process, not even making pilots. It also flooded the zone with numerous titles that made it hard for audiences to keep up. Daredevil was course corrected during its production as Marvel embraced a more traditional development model.

Jessica Jones was quite a good show, even though me and the missus watched it for David Tennant.
I haven't watched Daredevil yet, but I know Charlie Cox to be a capable actor, I saw him in a theater play "Betrayal" in London, with Tom Hiddleston and Zawie Ashton.
Even though Hiddleston was obviously the star of the 3-actor play, Cox did very good.
What do you think, @Dragonlordxxxxx , judging by the fact that I usually rate films and shows 1.5-2 points lower than you do and found Jessica Jones enjoyable, should I watch Daredevil?

If you mean the Netflix Daredevil series, yes absolutely. First season was amazing. Second season was okay. Third was back to being good.

If you mean Daredevil Born Again, eh. Didn't really like it for the most part.

Haven't finished the first Disney season...or didnt start it. Dont remember.

Didn't hear too much chatter about it, so j guess it sucked or meh?
 
The trailer on PLEX or was it Disney+ was different from the trailer during Wonder Man which didn't have Bullseye having a milk shake with whipped cream and cherry on top or what's her name saying I ain't carrying you.

Karen looks much hotter in Season 2 of this.

JJ season one was very good, mainly because Tennant knocked it out of the park. His performance was incredibly creepy.

Season 2 was a big step down in quality and S3 was so bad I couldn't even finish it.

WTF, the 2nd season was epic and better than season 1

We finally got a good portrayal of the punisher.
 
The problem with the Punisher is that it's hard to make the character the focus of his own show. Especially when Netflix mandated 13 episodes per season. The comics are simple: Frank wakes up, kills very bad people in very nasty ways, goes to bed. For a TV show, that doesn't work. So you end up with a lot of filler with Castle working through his feelings. Usually by shouting angrily at someone.

Again, this is completely different from the comics, where Castle has the emotional range of a Vulcan on Xanax.

Bernthal nails the role, it's just that the character is best used in small doses. He was great in DD S2, because the a lot of his early scenes were just him fucking up bad guys. Yeah, he does get a few emotional scenes, for example the rooftop with Matt and later when he talks about his family. But those are outliers. For the most part, he's a flesh and blood version of the Terminator. A killing machine.

Think he could be done like rorschack in watchmen.Basically have his inner monologue voiced or some friend he could bounce off from

Just adopt slavers already lol
