The original Netflix Daredevil, Punisher etc series were 13 episodes each. This led to a lot of filler episodes where nothing much happened. I like Deborah Ann Woll. She's a very good actress and easy on the eyes. I do not need an entire DD episode about Karen Page's tragic backstory.
If Karen's backstory involves working as the topless bottomless stripper who has sexual relations with certain customers, I need like three episodes to tell her story. I'll trade away five broken bones and three F bombs for that.

Overall, it was a good show. I was surprised they went all in with the blood and darkness.
The chemistry and the way they play "Red" and Castle off of each other is gold. Berthanal is great at this role, and I'd love to see him in more Marvel projects interacting with other heroes.
There's something about a guy like him that can help ground this Marvel universe

Someone brought this up when complaining about us getting a season about Daredevil retiring from being a vigilante - it's something that bothered me over the past two decades.

What is it with sequels treating heroes like they are retiring after they just barely got a career started?

The Dark Knight takes place literally a year after the Batman origin story, then he retires. Then Dark Knight Rises is about him being old and coming out of retirement.

James Bond in Skyfall. Wtf? He only had an origin story, plus a sequel that took place RIGHT after the origin story...and now suddenly the sequel right after is about him being old and over the hill.

Jason Bourne. Supremacy takes place right where Bourne Identity leaves off....and then Ultimatum takes place before the ending of Supremacy. Yet they treat Jason Bourne as old and over the hill already in Ultimatum. The director said the fight between Bourne and the other asset in Morocco is supposed to be a "old veteran" vs "new blood" type of fight.....dude this third movie literally takes place at the exact same time as the second movie of the trilogy...which took place shortly after the first one.

It's like the writers get the in universe timeline mixed up with the fandom.

One exception is Logan, where the old over the hill angle was actually earned through five movies each having a significant time skip.

I think its more simple from writing point of view to do a "hero comes out of retirement" type story than invent something new

Just my 2 cents

( i have noticed same trend as well)

Knew there was a post credits scene with Punisher. It delivered. God I love John.

Ok, there is a real problem if
Matt can identify his girlfriend in a drawing simply by touching it, and having touched her face earlier. It’s a 2D drawing. How the fuck could a blind guy possibly identify her?
That's actually accurate to the comic character.

He can read normal books (not braille) with his fingertips, his sense of touch is that strong. He can feel the different texture from the blank page to the parts that have ink or graphite.

Yeah? Well, it’s still really stupid.

The tooth thing with Bullseye was also from the comics but it was still stupid.
Agreed.

If I’m being honest, the entire Daredevil concept, along with its villains (except for Kingpin) so stupid.

But they did such a great job with the show. I really enjoyed all of it a lot.

The tooth thing with Bullseye was also from the comics but it was still stupid.

The TV version was much more believable than the comic, in which Bullseye spits his tooth right through the guard's forehead. At least here he just spat the tooth into the guard's eye, hurting and distracting him enough to grab the scissors.

The dumbest part of the scene is why they removed his restraints when he was just getting a head wound stitched. That was almost as bad as the cop shaking hands with Frank...

The whole finale episode sucked

It bothered me a bit that it was a molar, but the front teeth were smashed on the table.

Like if it has to be a left molar, have Charlie Cox grab him by the right side of his head and slam the left side of his head such that the left rear teeth and jaw strike the table edge.

Not sure how true this is, but this is copy and pasted from a post about next season

it’s official—Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ in March 2026. Showrunner Dario Scardapane confirmed the news on April 16, 2025, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for their work on Season 1 and announcing the return of the series next March .

What to Expect in Season 2
• Episode Count: The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes, continuing the storyline from the first season .
• Returning Cast: Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher) are all set to reprise their roles . Notably, Foggy Nelson’s return is intriguing, given his character’s fate in Season 1, suggesting possible flashbacks or other narrative devices .
• New Additions: Actors Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor have joined the cast in undisclosed roles, adding fresh dynamics to the series .
• Production Timeline: Filming for Season 2 commenced in March 2025 and is expected to wrap up by July 2025 .
• Storyline Continuation: The narrative will pick up from the dramatic events of Season 1, where Wilson Fisk ascended to power as New York’s mayor, imposing martial law and targeting vigilantes like Daredevil. Matt Murdock, having suffered significant losses, begins to form a resistance with allies such as Karen Page and the Punisher. The season is anticipated to delve deeper into the conflict between Daredevil and Kingpin, with both characters embracing their identities more fully .
• Potential Crossovers: There are hints that Matt Murdock may seek assistance from former allies, with speculation about appearances from characters like Jessica Jones, though no official confirmations have been made .
• Punisher Special: In addition to his role in Season 2, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is set to feature in a standalone Marvel Studios Special Presentation on Disney+ in 2026, further expanding the character’s storyline .

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Six and is expected to deliver a darker, more intense continuation of Matt Murdock’s journey as he confronts the challenges posed by Kingpin’s regime and seeks to restore justice in New York City.

ive gone back and forth on it.

overall it was not half as good as the original and it was/is nearly completely avoidable.

the writing is not as good as the original but not terrible.

but the spastic shaky cam is just total shit... I mean... its obnoxious and stupid and detracts from the show.

adding all kinds of glare to scenes? what the fuck? add that to the total shit storm this joke of a director has used to ruin the show.

add all the blurry AND glare addled scenes and it is sometimes downright unwatchable.

trying to turn each heavy scene into a soundtrack packed with meaning is not only formulaic and unoriginal and does not work but its a HUGE downgrade from the original too which was actually original in its approach.

the fight scenes are absolute SHIT too.

what the fuck is wrong with people? they should have kept the same writers and director. everything is a downgrade.

That part doesn't make sense to me either. They got all the actors back, but why not the writers/show runner/director?

You can't tell me they were all so successful that Disney couldn't afford them. I bet they would've returned to work on what was one of their best shows of their careers.

Imagine how deadly Disney+ Bullseye can be if he chose to use his doo doo as deadly projectiles. He'd be expelling the doo doo like powerful shot gun blasts.

Imagine if he swallowed ball bearings

Needs to be both as DD and Puniaher play so great off each other. Punisher on own is no where nearcas good . While DD still flourishes on own. Together it's greatness.
