God imagine Bernthal shit talking Spidey the way he does Daredevil.

Spidey making joke as he webs up a goon. Punisher: “You think this is a fucking game, it’s fucking comedy hour, is it.”

Throat rips some dude, shotguns webbed up dude in the face point blank. “They don’t seem to find it as funny as you do.”

Healthy, Motivated, Full Training Camp Spidey with, That Look in his eye beats Fisk, Bullseye, Daredevil and Punisher into a living death. At the same time.

Yeah? Well, it’s still really stupid.

He is a blind guy who routinely wins fights over groups of armed people with full sight, and often full auto weapons, while jumping around rooftops and railings and staircases and shit, several times while handcuffed or otherwise tied up.

THIS is what left you saying

In Universe: NYC is a huge city, and Spidey is busy elsewhere.

Real Life: Disney Plus doesn't have the budget to spend on Tom Holland.
Feels like NYC being under Marshall Law would be high on his priority list.

I don't get the budget argument either.. You're Disney. You have the budget for everything and anything.

Angry Pete who has run out of fucks to give rips Fisk and Bullseye's faces off with webbing.

In the Back in Black storyline, a hitman tries to kill Peter but shoots Aunt May. While she lies dying, Peter puts on his old black costume and tears his way through the New York underworld. He's not cracking jokes this time. He uses intimidation and flat-out torture to make criminals talk, and eventually finds out the hit was set up by Fisk.

At that time, Fisk was in prison, which he ruled as his personal kingdom. Both guards and other convicts were terrified of the Kingpin. Until Spidey breaks into prison to confront him...

Did spiderman ever show up in the MAX books? I understand why Marvel would have avoided that since he's beloved by a lot of kids, but an R rated spiderman who stops holding back would be nightmarish.

Tom Holland has the range for it. He was great in Devil All The Time.

No. The closest we got was Superior Spider-Man, in which Doctor Octopus switches his mind with Peter's. He then decides to prove himself a, "better" hero than Peter. Since Octavius is of course a Super Villain, this includes brutal beatings and, in at least one case, cold-blooded murder. Although the man he killed was himself a psychopathic serial killer.

The story arc did show exactly how dangerous Peter would be if he stopped pulling his punches. Literally: in his first fight, Octavius is unaware of just how strong his new body is, and punches the Scorpion's jaw clean off his face with one shot.

I am pretty surprised people are even expecting an explanation for this.

Even without the budget issues, it's just a logistical nightmare that the writers don't wanna deal with.

Even in phases one through three, it was a bit tricky doing big team ups, but they managed because there weren't as many heroes to think aboiut. By phase three, you had the Russo bros regularly meeting and working with the other MCU directors to make sure they were on the same page.

I remember when watching The Winter Soldier, I kept thinking "where are the other heroes??" then I learned they originally planned for Hawkeye to have a scene, but it was cut for reasons I don't remember.

Krysten Ritter Returning as Jessica Jones for DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season Two

jessica-jones-daredevil-born-again-season-2.jpg

Jessica Jones is back. Krysten Ritter is reprising her role of the superhero-turned-private eye, entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe by being cast in season two of Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again.

Ritter starred as Jones in the eponymous Netflix series in the mid-2010s. The series and actress generated considerable acclaim and awards at the time and is considered a highlight during the Netflix era of Marvel television.

The casting announcement was made during Marvel’s portion of Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers Tuesday.

Marvel’s presentation also included a first look at Wonder Man, the series that offers a meta take on Hollywood and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley.

The addition of Ritter, who joined Daredevil star Charlie Cox on stage for the reveal, is a boost to Born Again, which officially folds characters and actors from the Netflix-era Marvel series (which weren’t made by Marvel Studios) into the MCU.

Born Again has been a solid performer on Disney+, with the season finale notching an uptick, according to insiders. The show has also lifted the Netflix seasons, which now also stream exclusively on Disney+.

Marvel has been in recalibrating mode on the television side, and Daredevil represents that new model. The company famously made a splashy TV debut with a string of limited series that featured big-name stars that had appeared, for the most part, in its big-budget tentpole movies. It treated the shows as such, eschewing a traditional TV development process, not even making pilots. It also flooded the zone with numerous titles that made it hard for audiences to keep up. Daredevil was course corrected during its production as Marvel embraced a more traditional development model.

Meh. I thought JJ season 1 was great, but that was because David Tennant knocked it out of the park as Kilgrave. The Purple Man remains the creepiest Big Bad that Marvel has ever produced. His ability to force people to do anything he wants - rape, torture, murder - is pure Nightmare Fuel.

Without him, S2 was a big drop off. And I couldn't even finish S3.

Yeah and the best parts of S2 were with Tennant.

It was just bad writing. She still nailed the character. I'm hoping she's in Hawkeye S2 whenever that gets made. Her relationship with Kate Bishop is pretty great.
