Media Daniel Cormier: "I love what Jones is doing" in trying to duck Aspinall

Aspinal is a very high risk/not very big reward for Jones, I would be very suprised if he ever takes this fight.

LOL @DC still hating. He'll never get over the FACT that he never stood a chance with the GOAT.
How is he not just stating a fact. How in the hell is fighting Stipe not the easiest fight. Not only is he 42, he got completely slept his last fight, and hasn't fought in 3 years. Then Jones says he wants to fight Alex instead of Tom, who he knows he could drag to the ground and smash. DC haters are triggered by anything he says

It don't matter if Aspinall is a nobody, he holds the gold, and if Bones want's to be heavyweight champ he has to accept that fight.

He wants to fight without having to go to a gym and do sparring. Stipe is the one.

I do think he can win against Aspinall or even against Poatan if he just train fit to fight and get the weight. He is the goat I think people will still see him as the best. After years, DC is still butthurt.

Is it easiest or is it the one he actually signed to fight. Jones already signed to fight Stipe before Tom was even in the picture and out of diapers and holding the UFC interim belt. Why should jones break a contract that he had already signed to fight some kid in Tom. We know Tom is now holding the interim belt but he was not when jones and Stipe was made and agreed upon. Sergei was the fill in for Jones and Stipe and not Tom, because Segei was thought to have been a better fighter at the time and did not have a loss to Blaydes, so had Stipe gotten injured Jones would have fought Sergei.

At the end of the day it is really about a contract/agreement that people want voided for someone else. You want Jones to break his promise and deal with Stipe to fight Tom.

Reminder that Cormier got stripped for refusing to defend against Jones or Gus, his two hardest opponents ever.

Instead he opted for Derrick Lewis.

Which was itself also opting over a Stipe rematch.

There was a thread that claimed he shares the opposite opinion and how he thinks it's smart. It's weird how the same words get interpreted in completely opposing ways. How are people supposed to know what to believe?

I guess it was HIGH risk to take on this 45yo Middleweight with no wrestling skills

Isn't it comical, He was talking about older fighters but one of the oldest Cormier fought made him look awful. He was whincing and puffing during the Silva fight. That old man did better than the majority of the young fighters he fought. Experience vs youth and youth does mean a better fight as seen with Silva abusing Cormier. It was an awful fight for him.

Everybody complaining about Tom being the interim champion are ignoring that the actual reason interim champions *usually* gets the next title shot is that they won the interim belt while either being the original challenger themselves or beating that challenger.

Thus of course they're next by default. They already had the title shot or they beat the person who did.

This never happened here because the UFC moronically pulled Stipe too after Jon was injured. If Stipe/Sergei had just happened as had already been agreed upon we'd have no reason not to give the winner the next title shot. Either Stipe wins and preserves his title shot or Sergei beats him and takes it. Instead Tom beat Sergei who was just another contender, not Stipe who had the title shot.

The UFC made things messier than it should've been and a lot of people are just pretending it's business as usual.
