Daniel Cormier calls Alexander Guatafsson his toughest fight

After Gus caught DC off guard with the knee, he landed an uppercut to rock him and got a knockdown.

You don't see that kind of stuff from average strikers. He's always had a great stand-up game,
and DC straight up acknowledged it. He said the same thing just after the fight.

Another example of needing knees to head and soccer kicks and 12 to 6 elbows. If you allowed knees to head and 12 to 6 DC gets finished from this

Of course if legal DC would of surely fought different

Jones has said this to about his Gus fight many times.

Time for sherbrahs to give Gus the respect he deserves
Yep. Although gus is wildly inconsistent. He can really rise to his opponents level. DC and jones are both all time greats. And he gave them both all they could handle.

Everyone says their "toughest fight" is a fight they won. Like they don't want to give their actual toughest fight (or even best opponent) credit for beating them.

DC was the HW champion. Jones needs 14 years to MAYBE compete there. Who’s alpha?

probably the guy that won both fights and made him bawl and say the other guy is better than him and losing twice there is no rivalry.
What more can a man say than to get beat up twice cry about it and admit the other guy is superior.

Toughest yeah, he had a hard time on that one. That and the second Stipe fights were rough times.

Jones beat him, but he wasn't as mauled.

I think Gus won. Gus almost finished DC in round 3. If all the judges give Gus that round he wins the fight.

“I’m a realist,” Jones said. “Daniel Cormier is a special athlete and anyone can be beat. I think my greatest chance of losing would be to a guy like Daniel Cormier. We’d be giving him a power and strength advantage over me; it just doesn’t make sense. Right now, I make light heavyweight very easily, and it would just make no sense to fight a guy who, I think, technically (is) on your level and to give him a size advantage. I’m not doing it. I’m sure my fans don’t like to hear me talk like that, but that’s just me being a realist – and being respectful of Daniel’s abilities.”

Lol, so you get 1 point for the epic cormier/jones verbal war???

Jon needed help in that one, didn’t he?

It’s easy to root for the winner.. You don’t risk anything. You and Jon are a perfect match.

WAR DC

Look at that warrior getting son'd HARD by the alpha in their first fight. FUCKING SON'D. Pathetic. Did cormier cry in the first one too? can't remember

Would have thought Jones or Stipe
The Gus fight was more grueling than those. He didn't say best opponent, he said toughest fight. That was his only split decision and he fought back from being nearly finished.
