Dananomics: "Badou Jack is fighting for $75k" Badou: "That won't even cover my training camp!"

Neither of both are telling truth and just exaggerate things, training camps only costs so much if you want them to be expensive, with some useless fancy shit, just to look cool. I was monitoring performance on current cruiserweight world number one before Usyk fight and future ones, in the end of the camp barely came close to 30k euros, with tons of discounts on nutrition etc, so if some fighters blows too much cash on camps , it’s they own fault.

I kid you not, I had a dream last night that Dana was in a boxing match. He drove in on a 18-wheeler with free shit on the trailer to give out to all the fighters on the card with him. Weird fucking dream, especially considering Dana never gives anyone handouts.

Did he KO Tito?

Yep.
Training camps can be as expensive or cheap as you want.
If youre flying in training partners and paying for all their needs , that can be a big.chunk of change right there.
Your team, facilities, a nutritionist/live in chef, random body work and therapy, etc, over 3 months, that can easily add up to over 75K.
Yeah, but most of that can be cowered by sponsorship and local deals for advertisements, sparring partners (serious ones) actually ain’t that bad

Only if you're a top, top, top fighter.

A world champion, or someone with an enormous online presence.

Most fighters ain't getting much from sponsors.

Badou Jack got a minimum 500k to fight an absolute bum on the RJJ Tyson undercard. He also hasn't been a world champion in years, and he only held one title of a tweener division, while he was never a popular fighter. Yet I doubt any of his past purses since 2015 have been below the 250k range, but don't care to look that up. Also seriously doubt he is not getting at least 250-300k+ here either to fight another no name in Dubai, it might even be more than his regular purses actually since those guys pay like crazy just to have any kind of events going.

Meanwhile boxing has like 20 divisions with like 4+ belts per weight class, so every second fighter is a world champion or ex world champion lmao. A world champion can be the equivalent of a top 15 UFC fighter within a weight class and still be "world champion."

Meanwhile a fringe top 10 guy in the UFC will be getting base pays as low as 32k.

And the goof made no mention of when this "prelim non-world champion" fighter got paid that much, there was no indication he meant last card, it was probably the time when someone like Overeem or Hunt headlined some prelim FOX card.

Definitely agree, but that’s a burden for any sports low tier guy, unless you show tremendous potential, i am just surprised that some low profile guys bitch about not being able to afford camps, while it’s a reality for anyone at that level

A rare situation where I don't believe either of them.
Badou Jack's fight purses is readily available online. A percentage from their pay goes to their coaching/training. So if you make a lot then yes your coach/trainer will also make a lot. This is why Eddy Reynoso is a millionaire. Also why Freddie Roach is also doing well.

No way any of these fighters made 750k
Only one possible imo would have been pereira, but Dana said this prelim fighter had never been a world champion
He's talking about Chandler. he mislabeled him a prelim fighter but he meant undercard for the main event. But Chandler's pay is also not normal for UFC pay. Other fighters are not getting the same pay Chandler is.

Dana being Dana.
"Prelim fighter" - Has never fought on the prelims
"Never been a world champion" - Multiple time Bellator Champion
"Badou Jack made 75k" - Another proven lie.

Chandler who has never fought on the prelims and is a multiple time MMA champ?
Ariel smoking some crack.
What he means is Dana is misleading the people he's talking to as they wouldn't know the difference lol

Eat chicken & veggies / drink water / do roadwork / do bag work / spar

How expensive could this possibly be?

Need I remind everyone that Rich Franklin taught himself how to fight in a fuqqin 12x15 tool shed?

I understand his point though, he was just trying to show that undercard fighters are making good money as well. Only difference is most don't have Chandlers contract so they wouldn't be getting paid remotely close to his fight purse. He's making more than some of the current champions base pay.

Surprised fighters still want to fight knowing how little they make and how much things cost.

How does a training camp for a couple months cost that much? If he’s not lying someone is ripping someone else off clearly which wouldn’t be that surprising with how stupid a lot of pro athletes are
He pays coaches, sparing partners, nutritionist, food and lodging and and any miscellaneous services. The cost adds up

If prelim fighters were making 750k why are so many fighters complaining about fighter pay

I would have probably brought up Mark Hunt.
A guy with more losses than wins making over 800k to fight.
