Dana White talks Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov

Untrue.
He picked the Nate fight because he underestimated Nate and knew Nate had no training camp at all. He then arranged for the fight against the lightweight to he at welterweight, to have an inbuilt excuse. An excuse we've heard plenty of: "Raah rah this lightweight was three times my size; amazing behemoth raah rah"
Worst case scenario: He loses at welterweight, keeps his featherweight belt and his lightweight aspirations.

Then he lost and chose to rematch Nate at welterweight. Seems really brave, but honestly, what were the options? Live with having been bested?
Worst outcome: He loses again to a guy who's got his number and sinply says: "Oh well, welterweight isnt for me."

Then he chose not to defend his belt at featherweight (really bad worst case scenario!) or to work his way up to a lightweight title shot, but immediately went for the champ. Worst case scenario: "Oh well, this champion dude is just really good and I'm a featherweight anyway."

Now he's started to mouth off to Woodley, all the while ignoring every contender in his weight classes. Worst case scenario when he loses to Woodley: "Oh well, he's just 10x my size and really good, and I'm still the champ at LW anyway."

Last time Conor took a chance was when he accepted short notice Mendes for the interim title. That loss to a smaller dude without the belt to fall back on or any inbuilt excuses could've really hurt his career.

Then he got the belt and started becoming a calculating bitch.

I'm not saying he's scared of anybody. He's a fucking elite cage fighter. But despite apoearances to the contrary, from a strategic point of view he manages his career like a humongous pussy.

Haven't the time to go on a long response but, for McGregor, keeping the belts means little in terms of his appeal to the casuals. If he loses fights, no matter the weight class, that has an infinitely bigger impact on his star power. Casual fans support winners and if you're losing fights, no excuse is a good enough one

Kabob needs1 more fight before earning a shot.

Brock made it to an unprecedented 3-1 before his shot.....literally....unprecedented......not 3-1ufc....3-1 career.....

Let that sink in before saying a 24-0 fighter with a long undefeated amateur career hasn't earned it....

Nate was already a bigger draw than Khabib before the first Conor fight and afterwards it's not even close. Eddie was simply a vehicle to allow Conor to become 2 weight champ.

You said Khabib v Conor would be the biggest fight the UFC could make. And that is simply 100% not true. Really interesting match-up for the well informed. But I guarantee it doesn't beat Conor's last few fights in terms of PPV numbers.

Also doesn't help that the average dumb arse American can't pronounce his name. All these factors come into play.

Like it or not the biggest fight (PPV numbers) the UFC could put on is Conor v Nate III. Followed up by Conor v Woodley.

I personally want Conor v Ferguson. But once again, Ferguson isn't a big enough draw.

It sucks but that's the world we live in.

The "He doesn't draw" argument doesn't work. Conor is the megastar here, he's the one bringing in the viewers. $$$$$$$$ and lots of it will be made regardless. How much a rivalry/fight draws also has a lot to do with the chemistry two guys have with one another.

Dana white said they offered to stop in...you are correct about edgar I forgot, Dana claimed he turned down the offer then edgar flipped shit and said he never turned it down.

But otherwise you're just wrong, when dana made the announcement he listed several fighters who offered to take it and simply added "a lot of guys wanted the fight"

So please, enough of your bullshit, if you prefer to live I'm a world f denial and delusion you can so it all alone

Because Dana is so honest bahahahahahaha

Cerrone was already booked he even said he never offered as did Pettis and Khabib and Ferguson where positioning for a title shot at the time and neither wanted to step in.

In fact the names listed where a bunch of no ones and Nate was the biggest name and made the most sense.

So again what info did I give that delusional?

Fucking Conor haters will change the narrative to whatever suits them damn the facts.

What narrative did I change? You're alleging the statement made by dana was a lie, so what did I change??Several fighters took to twitter asking for the fight. You think cerrone gives a shit he had another fight lined up...

And look at who khabib and ferg ended up fighting yet you think they wouldn't fight connor because they were "positioning for a shot" whatever the fuck that means...because your implying beating the guy who was scheduled to challenge for the belt and the biggest name in the sport wouldn't help

You connor strokers are hilarious, pretending nate diaz was the only one who was willing to step in.

Why lie to yourself? Several fighters offered to fight him and they asked diaz. Fact.

Your viewpoint is borderline psychotic.

He's right about everything actually.

Mendes was indeed conors biggest risk. (Look at how conor reacted just after that fight ended. Conor knew he dodged a bullet)

And conor did indeed played up the nate fights as David vs Goliath when they both are natural lightweights.

Kid speaks the truth but you're just bitter

Conor doesn't want that fight. Hes trying to fight literally anybody else. Tyron Woodley, Floyd Mayweather... anyone but Khabib.

The Khabib fight just came on his radar a month ago, although he's apparently been ducking him for years.

To all the drunk irish who claim that McGregor did not pick Nate because he thought it was an easy fight: At the time bet365 had McGregor a massive favorite to win, with an implied probability of 80%. I know because I made some money on Nate that night. So dont give me that bullshit, that McGregor is only looking to challenge himself by taking on the strongest fighters. He and the whole world thought he'd steamroll an out-of-shape Diaz, who was 2-2 since 2013.

I'll repeat myself: The last ballsy thing McGregor did was taking the short notice fight against Mendes. After that he became obsessed with managing his star power and financial success, which means avoiding fights with bad worst case scenarios at all costs. Defending your belt has a really bad worst case scenario: Losing said belt. Challenging for another belt in a different weight class: That worst case scenario isnt so bad.

Thing with connie is that he doesnt want to defend his belt.always looking for fights where he something to win and nothing to lose
He will defend it

Against Nate Diaz

They'll call it unfinished business and Khabib will fight Tony then Aldo and then Connor will fight for the WW title, and hope Khabib gets injured or loses

This is the most accurate analysis of Conors game. Would be awesome if more people saw things for how they really are.

I'm sorry but he idea that moving up to challenge rda, then Eddie, and in his mind woodley makes him a pussy is indeed psychotic. Who's the bitter one? Lol.

Check their twiiter at the time Ferg, Khabib and Eddie where all pleading their case for a shot at RDA when he got better.
LOL Cerrone never asked for Conor and when asked about it said he already had a fight booked and he did.

The Several fighters mentioned by Dana where all low ranked guys who made zero sense Business wise to fight. Nate (going off the PPV stats ) was the right choice.

Your narrative is Conor cherry picked Nate because he wasnt in camp blah blah blah When Dana Asked him who he wanted Conor said IT DOES NOT MATTER PICK SOMEONE.

Conor did not duck anyone you deluded twonk.

Also he fought Nate with a full camp and beat him handily 3-2

Everyone know who he is now that he fought on the same card as conor and threw the gauntlet down. Were Nate Diaz and Eddie alvarez huge draws?

This is an interesting line of thought that some Conor fans use, they claim Conor is the biggest draw and that he carries cards on his own back yet he can't fight Khabib because he's not well known enough...

The Khabib fight just came on his radar a month ago, although he's apparently been ducking him for years.

True, he just had his first fight at lightweight so technically Khabib would just now be gunning for that belt. I'm sure Conor has been keeping a wary eye on that one for a while. Conor is always thinking about the next step, so if he was planning on winning the lightweight belt he would definitely be scoping out the competition.

I dunno about handily...
And Corrone has expressed his disdain for McGregor on numerous occasions. He thinks he's a loudmouth and would love a chance to shut him up, but he's not gonna sit around and wait for a shot. He's Cowboy dammit! He goes stir crazy if he's not fighting. Plus he's at welterweight now, so it makes less sense.

Yeah he had nothing to lose fighting Nate Diaz twice. He's had plenty to lose every time out. He's challenged himself every time.
What about next in line challenging him?
Oh, right, that doesn't happen in McUFC

Is that why he got a title shot after getting tapped by Nate in the same year. Losing don't mean nothing when UFC can just erase it for you and pretend it never happened.

What about next in line challenging him?

he hasn't been fighting the guys challenging him. he's been the one challenging. somehow that's a pussy move. he's challenging them. guys above him, not below him. not in weight, but in the magnitude of the challenge.
