Dana White sympathisers…

thinking Ngannou fucked up is not the same as sympathizing with Dana White...

try to argue with your brain and not your feelings

Isn’t it CRAZY how just months ago it seemed the entire MMA fanbase was blasting #PAYFrancis and now everyone is calling him an idiot! It’s amazing how the pendulum swings!

it didn't swing. the people who were all for Francis didn't realize at the time how shitty his situation actually was. they thought he knew something we didn't and he was setting himself up for a Conor-esque payday.

Regardless of what you think about Dana, the truth is that he predicted years ago exactly what is happening now with terrifying accuracy. This requires great business skills.

I agree it's his career, his life, his choice. I respect him from walking away because he thought he was worth more. As a man how can you not respect that?

but it's the fact he's leaving for boxing knowing full well he'll never draw some big boxing match like he wants. I hope he gets his freedom, but If he thought any mma org was going to give him what dana offered him or more, he has another thing coming.

Like I've always said from the start, It's his life. But i assume he's doing this as he must feel like he never needs to fight again. Because that could very well be how this situation plays out.
I guess, for a guy like Francis, who literally already bet his entire life on his dream and achieved it, having another think coming is just not that threatening an outcome. He's already out the mines, in America, a millionaire, and one of the best HWs walking the planet, as well as an ex-HW champ of the UFC. From HIS perspective this idea of following his dreams like he's crazy has paid off HANDSOMELY.

I would think that, for a guy who's done all the above, not fighting again would not be any tragedy, just a degree of success. I think you hit the nail on the head. Francis has ALREADY succeeded! Now he's trying a thing.

But, that said, it's unlikely he never fights again unless he wants that. He can always humble himself and accept an offer being floated to him. It's not that nobody wants him. It's just that he's asking too much. In business, being sought after by many but asking too much isn't a curse as much as an opportunity.

To say Ngannou's decision so far has been a bad one does not make one a Dana White apologist.

Just means you have a lot of hate for Dana White that clouds your judgement.

Or you're just good at trolling.

Absolutely spot on

Exactly. I personally thought Francis had it together. Who knows, maybe a deal with the PFL will turn out to be decent. But I doubt it will wind up as profitable as accepting the UFC's offer.

I don't think it's just Dana. Every other promoter out there can't seem to strike up a deal with him either. Dana and the UFC are not without their faults, but I'm blaming Ngannou here.

Most takes were pretty balanced..

What's not balanced are peoples little emotions..

You can see that dana white, jon jones, conor, etc are pieces of shit but still realize they are very fucking good at their jobs..

It's like posting about pasta and someone going - "so you like pasta, do you know who else likes pasta, dana fucking white you cunt! Maybe take danas balls out of your mouth and stop liking pasta!"

Makes about as much sense..

You corporate apologists make me sick!

Ngannou refused to bow down to your BALD king and you think you have the audacity to preach with your holier-than-thou attitudes and smug (punchable, no doubt) faces like you have a horse in this race.

Capitalist America has made you both spiteful and vindictive, you value monetary gains - even when it’s not your own- over anything that could be considered principled .

Nganouu was brought up in the remnants of a colonised sovereignty, money is just a by-product of his achievements to him. Stick with him guys, principles will end up winning in the end; he’ll be fighting and entertaining us soon, for that I have no doubt.

Dear diary…

lol Francis the biggest capitalist of them all. Leech’s of Europeans taking their social welfare, gets a big break in the ufc, stabs the person in the back who gave him that break, doesn’t give the fans the fights they want and leaves for more money.

How is saying Francis made a bad decision "whining?" Jumping through your monitor to defend him and calling Dana the villain sounds a lot more like whining to me. We know from a monetary standpoint that the offer the UFC gave him was a good one.

Francis said there were three items that they couldn't meet on:
1. The right to have his own sponsors. - I get the UFC not wanting to meet him all the way on this one, but I feel like they could have met somewhere in the middle with the UFC working to obtain sponsorships for him that stayed within their guidelines. Allowing full sponsorship rights here is going to cause every manager in the business to pick up their phones and start bargaining for their fighters. I may be in the minority here, but I prefer the uniforms over the condom depot days.

2. Health Insurance. - I'm not sure why they couldn't work something out here, but they definitely should have. Many fighters have come out and said they get health insurance from the UFC, and others have said they pay for their own at like $600/month.

3. A fighter advocate. - This is not something that should be provided by the UFC as there would be an obvious conflict of interest. I'm not sure what Francis expected here, but for most fighters, their fighter advocate is their manager.

Since leaving the UFC, two (if not more) different orgs have already commented on how hard Francis is to work with and said they are no longer interested in negotiating with him. This lines up accurately with what Dana has been saying about him. Dana hasn't been this vocal about not working with someone since Randy Couture. The UFC even let him out of his contract early and turned down their right to match offers.

See my comments above.
