News Dana White signs former ONE champion Mikey Musemeci to exclusive BJJ contract for Fight Pass

They've actually been investing in the grappling roster recently. Signed Dante Leon, Marcelo Garcia and a few others.
Those are the guys they bring in to do seminars at their gyms.

They are trimming the fat for a lot of their western talent especially if they don't have an Asian gym association like Tiger MT. Christian Lee is making this comeback so I am guessing he will stick around. Their HW champion just lost so I am not sure what is going to happen with him.

Mikey is awesome, ONE did him dirty with them breaking up prior to the Ruotolo match.

One already had their fun with Mikey. He's a boring BJJ nerd who will never have the balls to fight MMA. He ducked Ruotolo who would have dominated him anyway

Mikey is talented, but he’s a dork that embarrasses himself every time he’s on the mic.

He’ll never transition to MMA, so I don’t know why they are promoting him.

Hopefully I can see a good ONE card before it folds - UFC tickets are so damn expensive

No pics?
What the fuck!

LOVE IT!! UFC BJJ!!

Problem is watching BJJ is boring. Some cool stuff sometimes happen and it is a wow moment but rarely. ONE Championship recently announce they hired a scout to try to find exciting BJJ guys... to make the sport more interesting as they know selling boring BJJ to Thai Muay Thai audience is not working.

UFC needs to steal "The Pit" because Karate Combat stumbled into the secret to making BJJ have more exciting moments and they did it by accident the pit was a Chuck Norris idea for his karate promotion when the idea was stolen for MMA it did not work The Pit was an MMA promotion that lasted one event as BJJ guys did not know how to handle the side walls. Now they are figuring it out and it is sooo cool.

UFC needs a PIT to do BJJ right.

He's grappling first on an "exclusive" BJJ Contract but this definitely feels like a potential MMA debut in the works.

You guys into it? Would be a solid pickup for 135/145 if he chooses to fight too.

debuting in the UFC is rough for someone who has zero MMA experience and whose ground game consists a lot of him laying on his back playing footsie. unless he's a Jon Jones-esque phenom, even if they give him a can he will probably struggle if he doesn't tap them immediately.

Mikey would be a serial killer (or some sort of killer) if he had not found BJJ

Dude is out there at times.

BTW - grappling matches during ONE events were the epitome of boring.

Also, I think ONE signed Marcelo Garcia (not sure if he's going to be a coach or competitor).

Hope UFC BJJ signs Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida can also use in MMA.

Need to lose name
•UFC Fight Pass Invitational.
Go with something like (UBJJC) Ultimate Brazilian Ju Jitsu Championships.

Will they sign roided Gordon Ryan?

It is Good that retired MMA fighters like GSP can do BJJ here and also Cowboy wants to come back but Dana said no but Cowboy did okay in BJJ so should come back for these BJJ events.

He probably realized that Powerslap is fucking stupid and he needs to expand.

Yeah if he's actually going to do MMA he's going to struggle a lot. Gonna do full Ryan Hall and diving for heel hooks.
