Intrigued to see how this pans out, on the one hand you have Bellator potentially offering AJ fights that will earn a pittance of the views and/or financially imbalance the division's entire structure should he do a Jon Jones and price himself out, his contract apparently has 4 added fights to it now he's a Champ.. On the other hand you have Dana looking for the most likely star outside of the UFC right now(in a time the top drawers are seemingly dwindling), who has expressed interest in joining.. Seems there are a few options for AJ
1. He fights Pitbull in a rematch in a less popular and meaningful fight, but would still get decent views, warrant good pay and stall time, the negative is that if AJ loses the whole thing prolongs into a trilogy that imo still garners less attention than the first(Tournament winning) fight we saw tonight.
2. Remains and defends his belt against Borics/Jay Jay/Burnell or Pico potentially all 4 or others until his contract is finished.. All of these warrant little interest imo(no disrespect I just think AJ is on another level both in skill and as a marketable money maker), would demand a fuck load of money for AJ to risk these fights with little plus side other than Bellator Title Defence legacy
3. Joins UFC, fights for a title or top 3 fighter straight away, top $, top hype top top stuff.
4. Joins UFC and is nurtured slowly into the division, least likely scenario imo.
What says you?
EDIT: Also I get the objectivity of what the contract says, I just think
