...but if its not, it should probably be noted that their TV partner in the US is ESPN/ABC which are Disney companies, and thier Video Game is made by EA Sports. They employ the worlds biggest podcaster. MMA has also been on the cover of Sports Illustrated and the Wheaties box under Dana's tenure.

That's pretty serious for a sport that wasn't even on basic cable until 20 years ago.

And if you want to give him and him alone full credit for all of those things that’s fine , you and I could probably debate for a long time how much of it was solely his doing but I’m willing to concede that for how far the sport has come in 20 years he deserves a great deal of credit.
Now I want you to compare his general demeanour and behaviour to presidents and commissioners of other much more accepted mainstream sports like football baseball ect .
The first ever ufc press conference in Toronto had every major news outlet in the country in attendance, were they talking about Gsp defending his title or being named Canadian athlete of the year ? No, were they talking about selling out a 60000 seat area ? No
A large part of the coverage was about how Dana acts like a confrontational game show host
He started the press conference and the first thing he did was yell into the microphone “ WHATS GOING ON YA CRAZY FUCKERS “ .
