News Dana White announces Derrick Lewis has signed new 8-fight deal

Is than anything more embarrassing than using 14 stupid SD emojis and then be 100% WRONG?

Wait, are you referring to me?
Was I wrong about something?
I don't even remember stating anything.

I imagine it's because he's incredibly entertaining, win or lose

Glad to hear they negotiated to success. Derrick has become a staple figure in MMA... but I think his magic is best when taking out teh best. It would've be a shame to see him roll off to other orgs where he's out of the biggest spotlight.

Waz probably all a negotiatoins play from Derrick even bringing it up.

I mean according to Dana, 714 million people signed up and subscribed to Rumble to watch powerslap. It beats everything on the planet combined in viewership, every time it airs on that weird nazi platform.

Nazi platform? Okay.

On topic: PFL viewers got to 750k earlier this year on ESPN. Powerslap was able to do that for like half a dozen viewings at least.

8 fight deal = Dana saying "I got you forever, baby. You can never leave me now. Don't tell anyone about our love or I'll destroy your life."

Dana out here locking in fighters like an obsessed lover.

The word "Nazi" has lost all it's meaning just like the words "Racism" and "Fascism" has......but just look at the clowns throwing them around though.

Dana White won't let go of his disastrous version of XFL and gorging it on his own fighters to promote it

Because there are only so many slots on a PPV card. Putting him on a main card, makes the card weaker, but its not like its any cheaper. He belongs on the prelims. Do you not have to pay for the events where you are?
I'm selective with my PPV purchases, and when I do it's usually for big PPV with Big names from top to bottom. Other than that I just head over to the local bar eat some good food have a few drinks and I mainly pay attention to fights that I want to see. So to me bout placement doesn't matter to me.

What are the odds we actually get to see Derrick fight in the UFC 8 more times

Why is that a problem? I never understoood the point of caring what schedule or bout order the fighters are on a MMA card, if fans really care about these fighters they will tune in when they are fighting no matter what. Folks on here use to stay up at 2-4 in the am to watch a card or a just a fight they were interested in. People are fickle, if you don't want to watch Luis, then you don't have to, if he's in the main card then take a break, there are many things to do in a 15min time span. Why do people care so much about a fight placement & bout order, it makes no fucking sense, the fighters don't even care, they get paid either way.
So if you ask a fighters ''Do you want to fight at main event or prelims?'', their answer would be ''i don't care i'm getting paid either way''?

8 fights, for how much??? Shouldn’t that be the most important cliff?
<{vega}>

Sure, but still fighters make more in the UFC on the lower than any other org. Bellator payed big money for UFC rejects and fighters who didn't perform or bring in profit for the org, hence why they're going under. In the next 5 years PFL will fall also, 750k for Anthony Pettis who has won one fight in PFL out 5 bouts and his sole win literally is against a can. They pay fighters who are well known due to the UFC good, but the lower end fighters are not. The entire MMA pay structure is fucked if you ask me, some of the lower end guys deserve more and the some of the higher end fighters don't. With that said the UFC is fairly balance when it comes to who gets what.
It doesn't matter, average joes in here knows the fighter pay but those fighters signing the contract don't? No one is forcing them to sign it.

Yea, that probably would be the answer. How long have you been watching the sport? Urijah Faber who at the time was a big fan favorite was regulated to be the prelim headliner on FS1, People complain about it, Urijah did not, he still got paid good either way & had more eyes watching as the UFC was just getting mainstream with the Fox deal. Most fighters would actually want to fight early instead of fighting at 10pm-11pm

I mean hes always active and typically fights 3 times a year so that would be about 2 and a half years if he keeps the same schedule, as long as he doesnt go on a long losing streak.

Headlining the prelims
I see, thats a decent spot, at least when talking PPV, still some sherdoggers think its better to be on the PPV than headlining the free prelims, 8 fights and who knows how many years i guess we wont ever see him fight outside of the UFC, probably makes bank each time win or lose.

It does matter, greatly, sure hardcores tune from the first fight to the last, but for the masses there is a huge difference from being main event, "headlining" the prelims aka the feature prelim is a great spot, thats maximum exposure outside of the PPV portion of the card, being popular affects your next check.
