So the numbered UFC events will get watered down to near fight night quality, and they'll still have PPVs for the stars
Paramount is paying 1.1 billion a year to get the B team lol.

Right? I really wonder which one it isParamount has to be getting the pay per view profits if they go this route, or it's a breach of contract or the worst deal ever given by Paramount to allow this.

makes sense, UFC only puts on about ONE event worth actually buying per year.
you'll notice, Wether it's spikeTV, Fox, ESPN, reebok no one has signed deals with the UFC back to back. Because im pretty sure they realize they got rugpulled and they renegotiate very hard to recoup loses then UFC Finds another chump to hold the bag.
This.People are making way too big of a deal of what Dana said. Yeah he's leaving the door open for the future sure, but obviously he can't just start speaking in line with the "PPV is dead" mantra given that he's still in the business of selling PPVs the rest of the year.

Another aspect I have thought about that I haven't seen discussed.
Does this automatically kneecap all the PPV sale for the remaining events?

Thought experiement:
You walk into Burger King (I don't know why you would do such a gross thing but play along...) and see signs everywhere:
Whopper is going on the dollar menu in 2026!!!!
Then you look at the menu:
Whopper $7.99
Who is buying that full price whopper?
Well PPV sales haven't been great lately (from what we've heard) but I don't think it's going to drastically change how much the PPVs are in demand. People still want to see the 5 remaining PPVs in 2025 as much as they do the previous ones. Just like if you want a whopper today you're gonna go get it regardless of a price cut advertised 6 months from now.
