Dana says PPVs will still happen

So the numbered UFC events will get watered down to near fight night quality, and they'll still have PPVs for the stars

Paramount is paying 1.1 billion a year to get the B team lol.

Paramount has to be getting the pay per view profits if they go this route, or it's a breach of contract or the worst deal ever given by Paramount to allow this.

People are making way too big of a deal of what Dana said. Yeah he's leaving the door open for the future sure, but obviously he can't just start speaking in line with the "PPV is dead" mantra given that he's still in the business of selling PPVs the rest of the year.

Right? I really wonder which one it is

makes sense, UFC only puts on about ONE event worth actually buying per year.

you'll notice, Wether it's spikeTV, Fox, ESPN, reebok no one has signed deals with the UFC back to back. Because im pretty sure they realize they got rugpulled and they renegotiate very hard to recoup loses then UFC Finds another chump to hold the bag.

PPV used to be the only valid metric to measure star power. Now it's largely gone. ESPN killed it and Paramount buried it. Better times for American consumer tho.

I've been waiting for someone else to notice this.

Signing a deal with UFC is like dating someone who EVERY ex they ever had ended the relationship hating them.

I think he was talking that there is still PPV´s before Paramount+ move.

Another aspect I have thought about that I haven't seen discussed.

Does this automatically kneecap all the PPV sale for the remaining events?

Thought experiement:

You walk into Burger King (I don't know why you would do such a gross thing but play along...) and see signs everywhere:

Whopper is going on the dollar menu in 2026!!!!

Then you look at the menu:

Whopper $7.99

Who is buying that full price whopper?

Well PPV sales haven't been great lately (from what we've heard) but I don't think it's going to drastically change how much the PPVs are in demand. People still want to see the 5 remaining PPVs in 2025 as much as they do the previous ones. Just like if you want a whopper today you're gonna go get it regardless of a price cut advertised 6 months from now.

4 months (4.5)

Sales tanking. About to cost roughly 90% less.

UFC has a certain base that just doesn't give a fuck about the cost becuase they pay with daddy's credit card or they have "fuck you money" ... and I do think that was their bread and butter thru this last stretch. That demographic will continue to buy.

But a lot of the normal folks gonna just hit the streams or BWWs for the handful of remaining cards.

The "everybody chip in $20" crowd
I could see dropping substantially.

And UFC has put out a LOT of very skippable PPVS.

What hot shit "worth $97" ppvs do they have in the chamber?

Even the Ank vs Alex rematch is kind of pointless and that is probably one of their biggest draws remaining.

Aspinal vs Gane is basically contender by absolute default and the prime fanbase already get the cards without PPV.

All he is saying is maybe something will come along which leaves the door open. He'd be stupid to say never again and then they do it just like everyone brings up the wmma never in UFC shit and then Ronda comes along.

People make too big of a deal with this shit. Lets see how many PPV they do in the first year, I'm guessing 1 if that which would be white house card and even then who knows so yeah I wouldnt really worry about it.

The PPV addiction is real. They can't let it go. If they start putting a ppv a year, it'll become more. Unless it's all shut down, eventually they will be back to throwing out some shitty PPVs.

One PPV is worth it for me to not get Paramount, I'm already spending more for Paramount (120$/yr) than IPTV (80$/year). If I have to pay for a 90$ card, even if Conor or whoever the fuck is on it, then I refused to get Paramount. You have to buy yearly plans to make it worth it anyways.

Well they're not going to broadcast a PPV through DAZN <lol>
