media doesnt need prime seats to do their job. Putting these kids in there that have tons of fans and make UFC cool to another generation is actually smart business.

we're talking about MMA on a webforum. anyone still using webforums in 2025 is probably an old head of sorts. I might be wrong but I just can't imagine younger generations using webforums it's more likely they follow a newspage or an MMA related Influencer than a webforum or news site (which is why dana made this statement)

I feel that "free speech" has become a trope that nowadays comes off as "let them eat cake".

You can have free speech, if you are part of the ruling class, or in agreement thereof, but if you suggest that it may be a good idea to end racism, or unionize to protect the working class... ooof.
 
I think after losing top talent to the competition back in the day and TUF Dana realized its more financial viable to not make the best possible product. Just game the system as much as possible for the highest margins possible.

Get ready for the new era of UFC shill content, lower quality athletes and fights... all the while UFC will still have the perception of the pinnacle of the sport

Is nothing other than Ingenious clickbait. He literally never said he plans to do anything. All he says is he sees a day where..... which could simply mean that these media sites start to PAY INFLUENCERS to ask mma new related questions. People feel more connected to individual influencers opposed to faceless news organizations.


I agree with you that Legacy media IS infact dead, and that no one trusts it. Most people would rather listen to russel brands take on world news than watch the world news.

It's happening right now, The media is selling islam as the p4p number 1 fighter in the world tells you all you need to know. He has 2 top 5 wins at LW. Just like when Usman was p4p number 1 in the world (somehow) with 2 wins over masvidal and 2 wins over colby. A joke, but people would have told you when usman was holding gold that he'd beat GSP. Even though a knowledgeable fan would tell you GSP would surgically remove all cartilage from his nose and ears with jabs. And now that Usman has lost that title we hear NO talks about how much better is he is than GSP you know why?

Pretty much this now for me.

Dana was passionate under Zuffa for growing the sport and he did a good job. I won't take that away from him. It was about putting on the best fights. That was one of Dana's main selling points back in the day, and he was right. There was way too much cherry-picking going on in boxing, and the multiple titles at the top was stupid. Boxing had become comedic. Dana referred to MMA as a sport, and treated it that way.

When the Fertitta's bailed and it became entirely about money, and he didn't have to worry about fucking his friends over, Dana really went full greedy asshole mode, and now it's prize-fighting.

My gut feeling is TKO buys BKFC soon too. A last-ditch effort to put a title around Cocainer's waist. Feldman, Vince and Dana have weekly circle-jerks trying to figure out how to increase the price of PPV's to $125 per event.

Dana's best friend is a politician, so isn't it a conflict of interest?

I am aware that Trump doesn't like playing ball with the media, so no need to explain anything. But these people with highly viewed social media accounts aren't taking time to advertise for the UFC for free, or just for tickets to events, as Dana claims. And Dana probably isn't wanting to go that route so they can go back and get millions of views for them to say the event was trash, either. It's common sense.
