Saw Dana say that if Nate didn't take the fight, they were still interested in making Conor fight RDA. I don't know how even if he beats Nate at 202 @170, can he be offered RDA for the belt. Also, he'd have to fight Frankie/Jose.

Dana made it seem like the loss didn't matter, and they're still intent on giving him RDA for the belt by the year end, win or lose again to Nate.

No legitimate way to get Conor that fight without Conor beating Nate, Conor wasn't so obsessed with this fight he was more concerned about the possibilty of losing to two different opponents back 2 back with all the talk of being exposed. Losing to Nate under the same exact conditions already gives Conor a built in excuse, win the ship is right again and he fast tracks to RDA bypassing the line-up under the guise of Champion vs Champion.

Conor wants his two belts once he gets recognition for accomplishing that history maker he vacates the FW belt without ever having to defend it and slides easy peasy into a LW belt. All this of course is Conor's dream come true but we've seen what happens when reality "Stockton Slaps" and wakes you...

Dana said Conor's obsessed with Nate. I can't imagine him going to about 180, then probably cutting 10lbs before fight night, then going back to 145 in 3 months or so for his title defence with no IV :O

Being able to call him "UFC Champion" Conor McGregor works for casual fans who don't know any fighters other than Ronda, Conor and Kimbo Slice R.I.P. Conor vacates only if he actually wins the LW belt and the UFC is happy to keep him as an official "Champion" since it surely keeps him under contract as per the auto renewal of the "Champion Clause" so they are in no rush to strip him.
