Media Dana has repaired his relationship with Jones.

Because he’s handicapped. This seems familiar. Like I’ve said it before
It should be obvious that champs do have at least a little bit of influence in who they fight. UFC isn't an authoritarian dictatorship.

Wait, you think the UFC is NOT an authoritarian dictatorship? Stipe didn’t want to fight DC again. How much choice did he have? Sure you get options if you’re McGregor but Stipe? Stipe gets stripped if he doesn’t fight who they say. Dana said he was going to strip him when Stipe was stalling, trying not to fight DC.

Do you remember when the UFC wanted DJ to fight Dillashaw? What happened? DJ ended up fighting Ray Borg. I maintain my position that champs do have at least some influence.

That’s because Dillashaw had never fought at that weight class before. You can’t refuse to fight the top contender in your own weight class. Plus Mighty Mouse was widely considered the best flyweight ever. What were they going to do, strip him and have a super fight with Dillishaw and who?
Stipe has no leverage. He’s not popular and most people could care less if he’s stripped. Once again, he did not want to fight DC and only did after Dana threatened to strip him.
