MaybeDisagree totally....I think the UFC are well and truly done with the Jones and Ngannou business.
If Tom had been the first guy to beat or KO Jones, it would've elevated his name into a different stratosphere forever. A true passing of the guard moment that you remember where you were when you watched it, like Connor/Jose/Khabib/Diaz Weidman/Silva, Ronda/Holly.Jon Jones vs Aspinall would have been a great fight but let's not be goldfish brained retards and pretend that that one fight happening would somehow have saved the HW division? So that fight happens and Tom wins? Or Jones wins? Then what??? The quality of the division stays the same regardless.
I’m disappointed, but I understand. He’s almost 40 years old at this point and at that stage of your career do you really want to be fighting these young hungry lions? I wouldn’t.
why? It’s such a big deal that he’s not fighting this guy? Nobody has any clue where Tom will be in two or three years in his career? It’s gonna be awful hard for him to be considered the greatest heavyweight of all time when he has nobody to fight whatsoever in that division. NOT like he has peak DC, Werdum, Stipe or Brock all in their primes, ready to fight him.
An official loss needs to be added to his record. Loss - Tom aspinall (forced retirement)
He was effectively stripped. You can be sure Jon wasn't the one doing the callingPersonally wish UFC would have stripped him instead of letting him retire.
That's true.. But there is always someone to fight. It never ends.Nope, but we do know that he was good enough that the GOAT would rather ride off into the sunset that dare step in the ring with him.
I think Jones did. Jones in the last few days did a podcast talking retirement..He was effectively stripped. You can be sure Jon wasn't the one doing the calling

Sayonara, my fine feathered friend. May the angry words of your critics flow like water off your back.
LOL Right and now Tom has to fight Gane who Jones humiliated..LEGACY
Jones ducked Tom only after Jon spent a full decade hiding from ALL HW fighters.
He's said a lot of stuff lately including 'why should I drop the belt it's making me a lot of money' and 'the ufc wants me as a figurehead, they won't strip me'. I think it makes much more sense that Dana was the one who had to press the issueI think Jones did. Jones in the last few days did a podcast talking retirement..
